Could be time for Starmer to move into the real world and actually have to bring the promises to fruition.
Time to move away from being the clown on the sidelines mocking those in charge.
Guess the UK will instantly become a better place from tomorrow if you beleive all the hype. (I dont).

An Observation. We have driven up to Whitby today for Northern Soul weekender. We voted at 7.30am then took a slow drive up. From Derby area right through Leeds Sheffield Pickering et al we never saw a 'Vote For' campaign sign Maybe the penny is finally dropping.

I suppose I'd best get my boots on and walk the 10 mins each way to " do my duty" sometime. Have to say I really could quite easily not bother, and I doubt id regret not voting at any point in the next 5 years. Do I think my vote will make the slightest difference - No. Do I really give a flying **** who gets in - Again No. Do I trust any of them to actually make the slightest difference once whoever gets elected - absolutely No. Why am I actually bothering - erm, i really dont know tbh. But I'm told it's important i vote so off I go. Think of it this way, the 10 minute walk each way is good for your heart health But the couple of pints at the pub close by wouldnt be. Its probably the beers that have tipped the edge in actually bothering, a bit of a gift for 'doing my duty'

Predictions? You have to get out and vote to make them happen!
Vote today or regret not voting for the next five years.

Very safe and cant really say anything different or any more on incoming potential prospects.
A nothing sort of statement, a bit like a Shropshire Star articke that says nothing you dont already know.
Nice to actually have contact from within the club even so.

Shame about Dan and how it's all been handled but I have a feeling he's not the forward that would be suitable for a Hurst system (who likes a battering ram / juggernaut who holds up the ball for others). Still Dan worked hard for the team. I'm sad to see him go. Wycombe isn't exactly the world's end and I suspect they will battle with the town in the places in the table. Its time Hurst and Doig build their own team and identity. Roland you should support that but I'm unsure whether you will. Think Wycombe will certainly have higher aspirations than town. They've been higher than town in each of the last 6 seasons, and I'm sure will be aiming for promotion. Fairly clear Hurst is very much not seeing that as remotely realistic Possibly but they havnt got out of the same division that we are also in. And for the majority of last season until the last few weeks were dogging around very close to us.

Apparently it's a huge coup. They have beaten off Mighty Mansfield in the race for him.
No wonder they are feeling good tonight then!

He is not irreplaceable. He is our best goalscorer but isnt that prolific.
Big hole to fill undoubtedly but we didnt have an out and out goalscorer the last tome Hurst was here did we. We shared the goals around.
Let's give PH the first 10 games and see where we are eh?

not Bradshaw (at the moment) but Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt, who was on loan at Mansfield last season FEAR US Probably the area you need to improve the most from last season. Your defence from last season will get found out much more often in the higher level.

I would be more disappointed if we didn't sign Jack Price than Dan because he does want to play for us. Jack Price would be a HUGE gamble. If he was likely to be fit enough to play most of the games over a season he would be a Town player by now. The fact he isnt tell you everything you need to know imo.

Stranger We follow Plan A and are a distant second in a two horse race. We then change . personnel and batter them for a few minutes. We score a quality very late goal the type that comes off once in 50 attempts. The players seemed to have decided to attack, possibly fearing another disastrous penalty shoot out. Momentum was now on our side and we quickly added a second. Enter Mr Southgate again, pulling every body back in the hope of killing the game. It is quite possible and far less nervy to defend in you opponents half but that is nose-bleed territory for GS. We held on and the result scores a 10 but the overall performance, considering the strength of opposition deserves no more than 4. What amazed me was we went 2-1 up and still almost 30 mins to play. At that stage there was every possibility of the final score being 2-2 and a penalty shoot out. And so you take Kane your main penalty taker off. Thankfully we held onto the lead

One thing that can be said with absolute certainty is that every winner of every tournament enjoys the luck of the devil at some point. With six or seven games to get through, including three or four knockout matches, 'twas ever thus. I think we've certainly got lucky with the side of the draw we find ourselves on. No disrespect to Slovakia and Switzerland of course but I dread to think what would have happened if we'd put in the same type of performance we have seen throughout this tournament against the likes of Germany and/or Spain. Let's hope we are saving our A1 performance of the tournament for the final against either Germany or Spain then 😇

Sure this thread will start to get busy very shortly.
Though I'm sure PH will probably put a youngster or two on the bench for many of our games with the intention of giving them a few minutes towards the end of games if its sensible to do. At least I hope he will in our current situation.

He’s holding out for more money and who can blame him? Well he is now at the point where he wont be earning money at all now his contract with us has finished. Guess he still hasnt had an offer that he/his agent feels is good enough as he hasnt yet signed for anyone else. A decent striker would surely have had clubs falling over themselves for him and he would have signed for them by now. Maybe our offer is somewhere near to the best he has had and he is still thinking things over. But it's time for him to decide on the next couple of days.

He is a useful player who would probably improve working with Hurst.
However he is far from irreplaceable if he goes elsewhere.

Yes its make your mind up time for Dan. As of tomorrow he stops earning a wage so I'm sure it will get decided in the next few days. If Dan doesnt decide I'm sure PH will decide for him.

Sure you will enjoy your Cup final, it's been many years now so can understand all the years of hurt up there.
To us it's just another 90 mins, this time against a fairly local team. Nothing special.

Didn't see Udoh as part of the first team training squad. Perhaps a sign he is off [ His contract expires on Sunday I understand that if he doesn't sign he can't train with us as he won't be covered by our player insurance Not sure that's true. How did Jack Price get round this last year? Also Aaron Pierre when we were seeing how fit he was?

Fulham it is then - I can remember us playing their first team in the league in the early 1990s. And in a cup replay at the Meddah mid 90s. Won it and played Liverpool at home in the next round (,least said about that the better though)

You must live in Shropshire but not Shrewsbury? North Shropshire I am all for the NWRR and can't understand why people think its a bad idea otherwise It's much needed and has been for 30 years since the rest of the by pass was built. It WILL happen in the future sometime so why delay the inevitable.

Interesting and somewhat truthful. The glass half full in me sees that England have (a) qualified and done it as top of the group. (b) let in just the 1 goal, a screamer from 25 yards after the defence switched off, (c) despite not looking great going forward have looked totally untroubled in 2 of the 3 games. That isnt likely to win the competition nor trouble the biggest countries and we need to improve going forward. Whether we do or not is open to debate But in my view we have done all we need to so far. We will probably go out on penalties after a draw.....
