A good signing if he can stay fit.
Was once touted for big things but fitness and injury been too prevalent last few seasons.
Hoping he remains fit and starts to regain his promising status and doesn't end up being a dud. He will certainly see plenty of action this season if he does start as our No 1.

Good age, good height for a keeper. Was highly rated and linked with United recently but have to question how he’s gone from that to joining us on a free.
Hopefully can get back to the level that got him linked with United in the first place.
Good signing.

Will Savin be the no.1 goalkeeper I wonder?
It seems that most of the rumours about the signings are proving to be true.

I did wonder/hope he was going to be competing with someone else but way it reads is that he will be No1. He struggled last couple of years but before that he was a regular in league one at a very young age for a keeper, and so Moore, Hurst and Jensen will I'm sure know him and what he's about and maybe a fresh start is what he needs. Just hope his injuries are behind him.
Good to get a keeper in to build relationships with his defence, especially as we probably have most of them in place.
Welcome Toby!

I looked him up and found a video of a great save, we've made them occasionally ;-) but more importantly I read some of the comments and accy fans seem to think he was well worthy of player of the season
if he is decent with his feet and comes from crosses then thats more than half the battle, I have a good feeling about him

Had a quick look at him on Wikipedia. Seems like the kind of keeper we need. Rather chuffed .

He was released by Accy I believe so no fee involved Offered a new contract according to the Accrington website and under 24 so fee involved. My mistake. Will go to tribunal then if no fee agreed. Can't imagine it will be that high as don't think towns budget will stretch that far but definitely will be No1 then if a fee is involved

Lloyd and Savin proved to be truth from the rumours.
Wonder if Jai Rowe and Joe Whitlock will be similar.

Looked up Savin's injury it was a shoulder issue and he only came back into the first team in March.
So maybe someone else more senior will come in.
The Euros may delay a Premiership loanee coming in.
Wasn't it Whitlock or a keeper from Man Utd. Along with Fraser from Wolves.
Anyway I'm gatecrashing Savins thread.

It's hard to judge if this kid is planned on being number 1 or not , it's not often a loanee gets signed to sit on the bench , it's not often a back up keeper you pay money for sits in the bench and give 2 years too , As daft as it seems I wouldn't rule out Harry coming back on a 1 year deal 😝 On a serious note I would guess hurst has promised him number one on the basis an offer he can't turn down doesn't arrive ( eg a dean henderson )

Remember the Macgillivery situation. Where he had to sit on the bench for the majority of the season and got benched for the West Ham game.
What makes me think Savin isn't necessarily the no.1 is his injury record but also the quote on the press release that 'he will be one of two keepers'
I'd hope for this Whitlock guy and not for a return of Burgoyne.

Thought Burgoyne is about to sign for Morecambe.
Maybe if money is tight PH is going to use the young lad as sub keeper on the bench, and if Savin gets injured get in an emergency loan quickly.

Imagine a cross between Joe 90 and Max Whitlock.
You’ve just imagined Joe Whitlock, a new goalkeeper devised and hosted by mrcricket.

Welcome to town Toby Savin
Prior to his injuries he was clearly a keeper with potential and according to the star, premiership clubs were interested in him. However last few years has had little game time and only played ten games last season.
If he is fully fit then he is someone with potential but as he is injury prone he is a risk, so let us hope the other keeper is reliable.

The lad is certainly full of confidence which is exactly what a goal keeper needs. Potentially a very good signing.

I fear for him with the puns to come ..... Toby or not Toby, that is the question. If Jai Rowe joins Toby in our defence we'll have our very own Savin Bank. (For those is us who remember the GIRO Savings Bank)
