Hopefully the ultimate vindication for Southgate on Sunday - he deserves it more than anybody for the unfair torrent of abuse over the last 2 or 3 years, and 2 or 3 weeks!! Well done England Weeks??? Seems to have been 2 or 3 years or even longer with lots of people. |

I expect it's very difficult to coach youngsters to a good enough standard to be sold on, or every team would be making loads of wonga from it. Especially when all the best talent gets hovered up by the big boys at a very early age. Think its better to pick up the big boys cast offs after they have been coached to the highest standards. |

Tonight just too close to call for me.
Will we step up and perform like we should be able to?
Will we test the keeper a bit more than in the other games?
Will it go to penalties, and will we be as assured as the last game?
Who knows.
I've no idea who will prevail tonight and get to sundays final. But I still think Spain will win it barring some divine intervention by either us or the Dutch.
But come on England. I really would like to see the whole of England running out of supplies of humble pie for weeks to come.

Start of the European competitions with TNS and Shamrock Rovers in action in Champions League qualifiers.
TNS cruising into a 3-0 halftime lead against Montenegran side Decic, with our old player Josh Daniel's creating their first goal.
Shamrock are currently 0-0 at HT away to Vikingur in Iceland.

2021/22 - Sunderland, Crewe (FLT), Wolves (FLT)
2022/23 - Cambridge, Bristol R, Burnley (PSF), Cardiff (PSF).
If anyone can help with any I'd be very happy to hear from them.

And thus perhaps we should change our way of doing things. I find it strange how we’ve almost sacked off the first 4-5 games of the season as we await PL loanees to arrive but then we’d never consider easing off come the last 4-5 games of the season. Strange ethos for me. I’d be much happier if we swerved the PL loans in order to get ourselves ready and fit. Then I guess we’d miss out on the likes on Hurst’s last PL loan success. I've had similar concerns at the start of the last few seasons. Doubt it will affect us this season but you can quite easily put yourself only into the play offs rather than the automatic by not having your team up and running till you've played about 6-8 games. |

It seems odd that for the first 37 years of my life everyone complained about results and now we've one of the best records in world football everyone is bothered about performances. You don't need to win games to win tournaments. You need to not lose. Portugal only won one of seven games in ninety minutes and lifted the trophy in 2016. England have looked dire at times. Some of the best attacking players we've had in a long time look utterly stifled. And we've not lost a game at a major tournament. We won our group and we're in a semi final. I saw Semi finals in 1990 and 1996. Beyond that it's been slim pickings until 2018. At least the performances were good! 🤣🤣🤣 This. The most important thing at the top level of international football is to not let a goal in. It's very often game over if you do. That has to be why Southgate sets up to be so defensive so boring as it is I will support it if it gets us results. I really do hope England can go on and win the tournament because I'm sure there wont be enough humble pie to be had by Monday breakfast time. |

Unfortunately the games in August are now usually short of whoever we take on loan from Premier teams. Been like it for a few seasons now. But we are not alone with that.

Fred Davies won the league with trialists!!👍😀🤫😉😉 Think 3 of them were only signed on the Wednesday and Friday before the season opener on the Saturday. Withe, Hockaday (Weds) and Wayne Clarke (Fri). Patterson had been signed a bit earlier. No wonder we had a slow start. |

Disagree because if they don’t get the service, they’re going to struggle and their career could go backwards. Presumably we wont suddenly be scoring loads of goals but its up to Hurst and the other coaches to get some better service into the strikers so we will have to see what happens. We will get some service with Nolan supposedly on the way back here. Next will be to get Rodman out of retirement and we are away. (Its all TIC before anyone jumps on the post.......) |

It's sad but there doesnt appear to be many Town collectors these days.
My collection goes back from last season right back to around 1955 with very few gaps. Home and away, though I've stopped collecting aways (except cup games) since Covid as some clubs dont produce any more.
Ive got duplicates of many going right back if anyone else is interested.

I just wish we would test the keeper a bit more often. Only looked like scoring twice, keeper saved one but not the Saka one.
Not saying shoot every time but try it a few more times.

We had loads of signings coming in at this stage last season and the following weeks.
Sometimes we were signing 2 or 3 a week.
Most of them just werent up to the job.
Maybe Hurst is holding off and actually going to get better quality.
I'd take that over last summer's fiasco.
