As clubs start releasing their retained lists, it will be interesting to see how the ex Town players get on.
Shaun Whalley, 36 has been offered new terms at Accrington.
Meanwhile Abo Eisa has left Grimsby, what's the chances he will reunite with Hurst and Doig for a 4th time?

Steve Morison staying put as manager of Sutton, and Steve Arnold sounds like he is staying as keeper too as they drop to the National league.

Exeter seem to think that Ryan Woods is being released by Hull. He has been on loan down in Devon and their fans seem to think they want to sign him.

Shop has been offered a new contract at York City He wont be signing it. Hurst has been talking to him apparently about coming back here. Will be on low wages so fits the bill nicely.

Doesn't appear on their list of our of contract players, but Greg Doherty does. Obviously Hull won't release their list until after their season ends but with them loaning Ryan out it's clear that they want him gone

Josh Emmanuel released by Carlisle.
Was under Hurst at Grimsby last year and was mentioned last year as a possible for town as he rejected a new deal with them as think he wanted to come back to league one. But didn't sign with Carlisle until November and not sure how he's done this season.
Played for town in the season after Hurst left, after being at Rotherham (and playing against Hursts town at Wembley). Came on loan from Ipswich so again briefly under Hurst there too.
In a position of need as a RB/RWB and presume wouldn't cost loads. Wouldn't be that surprised to see him here

Woods still has another year contract at hull so unless they pay him a huge amount he won’t be leaving on a free

I'm sure they would let him go for free as I don't think they'd get a fee for him and want him gone. But also him leaving for free would mean a sizeable pay drop I presume. So I reckon it will be they will agree a deal to end his contract - suits both parties

Abo Eise is a decent winger, would be happy to see him back in the fold.

Abo Eise is a decent winger, would be happy to see him back in the fold. Seems to still be a player capable of scoring excellent goals rather than one who is going to score or assist regularly. Grimsby fans don't seem surprised or bothered he is being released saying he often goes missing in games, and more likely to go down to National League. That said he's played under Hurst 3 times now. A 4th is certainly feasible!

Talking of keepers, Jayson Leutwiler has been released by Port Vale. Suppose he's past it? Only the last PV reject seemed to be rejuvenated by a move to Shrews.
Perhaps a Harry B replacement?

Okenabirhie is 28 and has a good eye for goal.
Josh Emmanuel at 26 is a damn good shout for right back too.

I always felt that Ricketts should have given him more of a chance. Hope the pitch is being widened as I type this.

Okenabehrie another one who I thought did well here, Ricketts did at least cash in on him and he's been injury prone but I was sorry to see him go.
I remember a hat-trick in a losing cause I think against Bradford 3-4

I liked Leutwiler but I don't think Hurst did, didn't he sell him and bring in Henderson?
