No one likes to see proper old-school teams like Wrexham go under. MK Dons however...👎 No I wouldnt want to see Wrexham go under. Go down a division or two but not go under. Agree about MK though, I'd be delighted to see them go under.

Can’t seem to find Wrexham. The FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP hasnt featured very much in Wrexhams recent or mid term history to be fair. 😉 FA Trophy more their scene.

Rangers crash out of the Champions League and into the Europa League. Lost to 2 late goals at home to Dinamo Kyev after drawing the 1st leg 1-1. And TNS drop into the Conference League after failing to pull back the 1-0 1st leg result, only drawing 0-0 to Moldivian team Petrocub. How many bites of the cherry do these clubs have to stay in Europe? I think for the lowly countries in at the early stages those who start off in the Champions League qualifyers can drop into the Europa League and then the Conference League as they lose in the higher competition. If you come in as a Europa League qualifyer you can drop to the Conference. But if you start out in the Conference League you cant drop any further if you lose so drop out. As Pilch says it means far too many games and those lower down their own countries ranking (like us) dont get any say whatsoever in decision making like replays etc. Which is very sad.

The squad is low in numbers at the moment so I can't see him going out on loan unless we get a replacement or two in. Yes, at the moment with just 2 injuries we cant even put out a full bench. Little bit concerning to me that is.

Yes, weve "sat in this league not managing to improve much at all". You've had shall we say an interesting journey in both directions. Think overall I'd still take our journey tbh. It’s an interesting question, as when Wrexham talk about their ‘journey’, they’re probably only referring to the past three seasons and not the ten years before that battling financial issues, a crumbling stadium and p**s poor crowds down in the non league. And losing a national trophy final at Wembley to a village team from up on Humberside. (Dont ever forget that 😉 )

was a free hit for us, we dont really care, playing against a recently relegated Prem team with quality all over the pitch. we know our level and what we need to improve on, you lot have been sat in this league not managing to improve much at all so its all swings and roundabouts Yes, weve "sat in this league not managing to improve much at all". Elsewhere tonight Blackpool won 4-0 at Burton with Pennington scoring 2 of them.
Dan Udoh scores Wycombes first inside 10 minutes.
And Stockport lose 6-1 at home to Blackburn. Blackburn even score Stockports goal for them too.
Edit - just seen the Telford result. Lost 5-1 at home, keeper must have back ache picking the ball out of the net that often

I’ve just got in! We’re delirious over here in SY2. Just popped open a drink to celebrate coming back from 2 down to go through against a very tidy county side. Then I check the TV to see the Hollywood sheep fiddlers have lost ……what a night. Kalimera indeed Are you out on the terrace? Noto would be no matter how much it's raining....

Therefore a loan space to fill? He is still on loan with the club, he is just having his recovery with them. We also have space for 2 more loans. 5 are allowed (Feeney, O'Reilly, Kayode) only 4 allowed in the match day squad at one time? I thought it was 5 in matchday squad (unless its changed since last season)

The plan is to get them to a level where they command value, no? Nothing about playing for us, just about re-sell value. I'm sure playing for us at our level is linked into it. Play at lower level, improve, play for us, improve, sell on for decent money hopefully. That would be the ldeal scenario though it wont happen with all of them you would guess.

Unless its short term loans I find it strange in the case of Godwin and Loughran as they seem to be pushing for a place on the bench. If they come back stronger and tougher mid season it makes more sense. I think a youth loan such as this you can recall them at quite short notice if they are needed due to an injury crisis. It's not quite the same as a season or half season loan that we get at our level.

Josh Feeney has gone back to Aston Villa to recover from his hamstring injury. Therefore a loan space to fill? I think he is still classed as a loan player for us and will be back when fit again. The curse of the injured loan player from last season lives on.

Hope every match thread of the season isn’t going to go down the Wrexham rabbit hole. Can we refrain from mentioning them, and then maybe the troll won’t smell blood. They've their own dedicated thread on this board. You would think that would be sufficient. Is this something the mods should be wise to and move or delete posts? Especially guest posters like in this case. If a post is deemed to be Off Topic it gets moved (well for some posters it does but not all posters).

Not sure I agree with this strategy unless there is allocated time each week that the players spend at Salop. Surely the players would benefit from professional coaching on a daily basis over playing in a glorified Sunday league game. I'd guess that the clubs they have gone to are not full time whereas the Town players are so surely they will spend at least some of the time training with the club.

Shameful really, the 2 cups were always a welcome distraction and the joy of being in the draw when the big clubs enter was always exciting. I still dont understand why the first round game isn't scheduled to be the opening saturday of the season , the only time Ive know it was when we went to Leeds and lost 4-0, I think its a great step from moving from a friendly to the league kick off, must be a reason , probably the premier league are involved It was often the first game(s) of the season back in the late 70s/early 80s. Town fans were mightily impressed (not!) When we lost to over 2 legs the week before the 78/9 season. Didnt work out too bad in the end though.

Lots of Wrexham supporters looking forward to seeing us in September but forgetting it is an international weekend including Wales under 21.Expect a postponement when players are called up. Think TV are expecting it to be called off. as I put in another thread, our only international is Jacob Mendy for Gambia We sadly dont have any U21 players close to a call up. Do you? Pretty sure we dont. Only possible call up is Aaron Pierre if Grenada are playing / if he is still currently good enough for selection.

I'd just like to congratulate Wrexham on being higher in the league tables than Shrewsbury.
How many years has it been since that happened then?? Must have been when Noah was a lad.

Just looked him up when he was with Bala he scored 24 goals in 55 games For Newport he scored 23 goals in 91 games were he played wing back and due to his goal scoring ability was then playing as a forward. I would have thought that this would be exactly the kind of player would have been looking for. Only be looking if he had Cheltenham connections 🙂

Typical. I hope they know they’ve got one of the most disliked clubs in the league. Good riddance to Winkleman anyway. THE most disliked club, not one of them

Now that was a good player for us! Still scored more league goals in his brief spell with Town than he has in the entire rest of his career put together Does seem to be a wasted talent for some reason or other. Never kicked his career off after he left us.

have discovered that if you only have a sky go app , thats a legit way to watch sky given to you by a user who has a full sky account with sky box etc, then you cant watch the likes of towns game tomorrow , only the game(s) they are showing on the main sky channels the solution, pay to have sky installed and subscribe to sky sports Wont be happening here that's for sure. If a decent games we were playing was shown at a pub or somewhere I might make the effort but Sky can do one for me, wont be giving them a penny of my money.

Let's hope Hurst has been covering this in training having seen how few we got given last season.
Need to make every advantage count for us this season and a penalty is a huge chance to score

Comfortably clear of relegation by the end, though it could be a bumpy ride to get there.
Dont think we were in the bottom 4 all last season? Cant see us managing that but I think we will be safe by the end.
