It is completely unfair to blame any one individual when it is obvious that all is due to Brexit/Covid/Tories/Russia/China Well absolutely everything else in the world is due to at least one of those things mentioned.

He played in the 1st leg as well I think.
2 pen saves, neither keeper had much to do mainly down to the standard tbh. Was similar to what you watch on the park on Sunday morning.

Seems the Town winning at Twerton in 96 was our last game there. We had played them in the league just a few days before.
But there is Utube footage of our game in 97 that was at the Memorial ground so guessing they moved after the 95/6 season. We lost at the Memorial ground and had to stick 2 youngsters in to make up the numbers. We had a flu epidemic but the FL refused permission to call it off. That was my visit to the Mem.

5 out of 6 for me, never got to Eastville( before it mysteriously burnt down😉) That night at Twerton Park was kinda special, mostly because they thought that had it in the bag. Decent open terrace on a bitterly cold night with many superb performances on the night from Town players, non more so than Edwards in goal. Yes, second best ever Town away game probably only bettered for me when we beat MK Don's. Eagle saving the penalty that should never have been given, cheating little barsteward Marcus Stewart throwing himself down and the ref buying it. Great save and then Ian Steven's winning it late on.

After Oxford our next opponents are Bristol Rovers who used to play for many years at Eastville before 10 years playing out of the city at Twerton Park, Bath. They finally got back into the city moving into the Memorial Ground but are still looking to build a permanent home ground over 20 years later.
What are your memories of watching Town at the various grounds over the years? How many have you watched Town on?
I've watched Town play Rovers on 6 different ground - Eastville, Twerton Park, Memorial ground, Gay Meadow, New Meadow, Wembley.

Good luck England tonight👍 It's a friendly mate, no pressure for us. All eyes are on you from over the border, not us. Dont bottle it.

Hopefully after a 2 week break, they should be as fresh as daisies....so no excuses about fitness/tiredness please I'd take a 1-1 draw on Friday, and on Monday tbh....4 PTS from these games, and we're nearly there👍👍 Yes both games are much more 'must not lose' games than 'must win ones'

Not sure it will, being a 3pm ko quite a few supporters and businesses working full day, even though it is a Good Friday and then add to that people going away at Easter…. and a few might be at Church. Praying that we might score a goal or two 🙄

Maybe you will be top 3, but surely if you end up losing both of those it's highly likely you would lose out? Or am I missing something. Realistically its going to be 80 plus points to finish top 3. we have 7 games remaining, but if we lose to the top 2 we can still get a maximum of 15 points, which would get us to 85 points. If we draw another game we should still be on target. the teams in the playoffs would have to go on a hell of a run now, and while it is possible, i dont think it will happen based on everyones run ins. Regardless, its going to the wire Much more sensible and measured post than the post before yours......

Weve not got a good record at home to Oxford in recent seasons (I'm thinking from memory anyway).
I'd take a draw right now.

seems like we are going to be a top 3 finish, we have to play both Mansfield and Stockport, so those will both be big 6 pointers Maybe you will be top 3, but surely if you end up losing both of those it's highly likely you would lose out? Or am I missing something.

I'd like to see us get at least 21 points from the remaining 7 games. At least - can we get bonus points for more goals? Think we can tell the answer to that one - not a chance.

Connah's Quay reached the final a few years ago played at Inverness Caley Thistle. At least this one is at Falkirk. Did go and watch a game-Connah's Quay v Cove Rangers the year after their final. Impressed that Cove brought a coach load of support all the way from close to Aberdeen and all to no avail as they lost Guess it's a but like playing in Europe for some of these smaller clubs, especially the Scottish ones who wont ever get the chance to play in Europe unlike the Welsh and Irish ones.

I have a mate who was on town books and away to Oxford was the closest he came to playing , I think it was when 2 Subs were allowed , he travelled as one of 3 subs but was the one left out , he remembers maxwell with a bottle of champagne so it could have been a promotion from them that game so likely the one above It's very likely this game for sure but in BOES only lists Paul Johnson as No12. Only one sub that season, 87/8 seems to be the first season of two subs.

My biggest memory and probably the only time I visited was watching Town in this game. A win for Oxford would guarantee promotion to the old First division.
For me it was a celebration despite the defeat - it was my final ground as I joined the '92 club'. Was great to have visited all the old grounds before they got changed forever.

Ok our next opponents are Oxford United albeit at our own ground.
They moved from their spiritual home the Manor Ground over 20 years ago now. Did any of you watch Town play here, what are your memories of the ground?

Well,... It tells me Burton are not very good ATM.....and vale dominated that game....but they're still 8 PTS behind us as well Three wins needed to overtake us without us picking up any extra points. Only 7 games left (8 for Vale). Its possible they will get to 44 but unlikely unless there is a huge turn around in form. 1 win for us will put it to bed for sure.

Beat Oxford and that is us safe. 47 points will be enough. Problem is Oxford will come needing a win and our home form...... Plus I seem to think Oxford have done quite well at GM in recent years. Think Briatol Rovers is the more winnable game over Easter.

Wonder if any team has ever won a league title by 3rd week in March before (obviously since the days of leagues the size they currently are, so in maybe the last 100 years or so). Well done Chesterfield. Good to have you back. Reading’s Championship record breaking team (2005-06) got promoted in March. Still hold the record to this day for achieving 106 points. In the FL maybe. But didnt Wrexham get 110 last year in the National league?

That's true. It has however been many years since we participated. Did we decline to take part, or were we uninvited? We declined. Back in the days of Ian McNeil and following us being kicked out after playing on loan Ron Green in goal. He was eligible to play in the FL for us but the Welsh version of being registered was different. McNail being Scottish thought it was unnecessary games so we didnt enter the following season.

But surely all 3 of them, have got to agree about all the signings that come into the club next season???🤔🤔 Would hope that PH and CD chose who they want and tell MM to do the formalities. We have seen enough of MMs signings this last 12 months.

Please Mr Moore, leave the recruitment up to PH. You just concentrate on filling in the paperwork. That's the easy part, far easier than identifying the talent and whether they will be good enough to actually improve the team.

The higher earners out of contract in the summer are on their way then reading that.
Hope Hurst can pull some decent rabbits out of the hat to replace them.
