Liam Walsh is without a club after being released by Swansea. A good player (midfielder) but unfortunately has been mostly injured last few seasons. Be a good fit then.....

Need a mix of experience and young players.....Dave Edwards pointed that out in his column the other week...the young players will come shortly I agree. The mantra of buy young to sell on is just not feasible right now. We have got a few experienced players now, Hurst loves young loanees. I am hearing we are still linked with a young Man Utd keeper for a loan. If he is half as good as the last Man United keeper we had I dont think many will complain.

Serious question to you lovely wrexham fans. I have been reading some of the comments by James McLean in my mirror subscription. Is he really as big a headcase and K@#b as he comes across. I honestly don't know much about him He certainly comes across as one. Doesnt seem a nice individual at all.

It's all well and good fans shouting for the head of Southgate but what's the alternative. It's the same for me with the election. S If we were demanding change every time we lose or have a poor defeat then I'd be a bit more understanding of this view. But Southgate has been in charge for 8 years (and going back to your election anaoliy, the Tories have been in charge for 14 years). When things are going poorly and/or going backwards then people inevitably want change, thats nothing new. But to answer your question, I could give you a whole list of names who I think could do better than Southgate, whether any of them are realistic or are interested is another matter so I genuinely don't understand why people shout down 'get rid of him' with 'who's the alternative?' it's not our job to do that. But I'm pretty confident that with the money on offer (Southgate is the highest paid manager at the Euro's), the players available to them and the challenge of finally delivering some success to England, the role would appeal to many managers. And I'd like to think that they have more on their CV than managing Middlesbrough "When things are going poorly/backwards then people want change" Just be thankful we are so poor that we have had a final and a semi in Southgates charge. We havnt had many of those since Alf Ramsey but plenty far worse performances.

Not too bad so far, and not all walkovers too, which I imagine is a concern with increased numbers in the tournament. Hungary and Albania definitely put up more of a fight than Scotland! England match I'm sure will be dull as dishwater but the other matches look hopefully interesting. Dutch need a win in a potentially hard group. All that said it feels weird to think a fair few 3rd placed finishers will go through too. Takes some of the jeopardy out Well my dull prediction was sadly continued onto the second match. Really hard watch. Shame compared to on the whole an entertaining tournament so far. Luckily for England they will still probably top the group but as soon as they come up against a decent side they've got no hope. Don't understand how Gordon didnt get on last night. Intrigued to see if there will be any changes for the last game. Does he drop Saka, Belligham, Kane or Foden? Alexander Arnold should go but wonder if that might be the only change. One of the biggest issues for me is Trippier at left back. But unless Shaw is fit can't see a change happening. Unless Southgate sees this match as a dead rubber as England are already through. Who knows. But think his days as England manager are going to be over after this tournament And who is your tip to take over from Southgate? He would have to improve on where weve currently are obviously, can you imagine the moans if we went backwards.

I was impressed with Spain this evening. Should have won by a wider margin for sure. Didnt see it but they failed to actually score themselves. At least England managed to do that.

If England don't beat Slovenia and win Group C, they may want to consider a tactical loss and progressing as a third-place team... as if they finish second in Group C, they will likely play Germany... Even I'm not sure if I'm being serious. Despite tonight I fully expect England to win and finish top of the group.

Dear me, I couldnt beleive the amount of moaning after the Serbia game. Didnt play particularly well but did what we needed (scored and kept clean sheet) for the win. But the moaning was incredible.
Tonight the moaners have every right to moan. That was a very poor performance littered with mistakes. As others have said we deserved to lose. The only plus is that we shared the points, are still top of the group and should qualify for the knock outs. But we need to improve hugely.

The Kop plans are indeed on hold, but only because we are now considering the expansion of the stadium as a whole, and therefore the proposed current plans need adapting to incorporate this. purported 50k stadium here we come! Darlington here you come 👍👍

I'd rather play football, and star in a struggling side, than sit on a bench somewhere else....no brainer for me🤷🤷 But on probably quite a bit more money. Guess you have to try and improve yourself else you would never know. Like going back 5 or 6 years when he came to us from Telford. Wasnt good enough then, but got there in the end. Guess his next few years will see him at his peak.

for those who didn't spot it, check the first time West Ham play outside London I had spotted it. Maybe they needed Arsenal and Chelsea as their next away games in November.

If no-one has come in for him and made him a firm offer, isn't that telling us something? Should also be telling him something. Sign the one that's on the table (and before it gets withdrawn).

I think the fact we know how good the individual players in the team can be made the performance seem worse. The fact is we were never worried at the back and decided to control the game instead of taking unnecessary risks. Albania were a lot more effective going forward than I expected them to be so credit to them and every team will have good spells. Certainly not perfect but its job done for tonight. Albania

Not a great performance but good enough.
Cant do better than a clean sheet and score a great goal.
No need to be brilliant in the group games just get through then start to improve.
PS Notice Noto has gone to bed early after his prediction ......

Not much delivery from the posties here in Brighton. Deliver about twice a week (and not on Saturdays). I recently got a card from my daughter in Folkestone that took 10 days - with a 1st class stamp! Too many Scottish postmen around here! I wouldn’t miss it if they stopped delivering all together. Junk mail, everything else paperless. Occasional legal document can be couriered….or collect it from your local ‘locker’ 👍 Soon be a thing of the past a bit like milkmen…. Still a milkman comes down our street every day, approx 00.15 am 6 days per week without fail. Not sure how many he delivers to but I doubt it's more than 1 household given the time before he is coming back.

A good, comprehensive report, Liam has certainly made a difference. Unfortunately he is probably not allowed to mention whether there is any progress in talks pertaining to fresh investment or take over at the top. Are talks still going on and are we getting any closer to preferred buyer status. Unfortunately our rumour provider seems to have gone very quiet on here - I hope he hasn’t been banned! As he hasnt posted for so long you can only assume I guess. Of course he might have chosen to have a period of abstinence.

Price has a huge job of proving his fitness, to me he did nothing to prove it in his trial over the last weeks of the season.
We simply cant take a punt on this on the wages he is likely to be on. Those sort of wages we cant have him playing a few minutes cameo or being on the treatment table.
If we miss out by doing this I couldnt blame the club for being hesitant.

Just one more to sign/confirm departure now that Pierre signed in the week - Udoh. Has anyone heard any rumours either way? I personally think he’s off but would be happy if he signed. Yes, not heard much about Udoh. So far my earlier predictions I've called all 4 right, I'd be very happy to get my Udoh prediction wrong though. I said he would be gone.

What Hurst wanted in January might be quite different to what he wants right now. Hurst was hamstrung by how he could play with someone else's players and needed to battle enough to stay up. Now he is putting his own team together so needs might be significantly different now. Just a thought.

So that's todays defender signing then. No one totally new coming in yet then I guess.
Aaron sounds like he is looking forward to a good pre season, bet he wont when he is going through it.....

We do like a double signing of late! Well we did have what seemed like hundreds coming in last pre season when Moore was new to the job. Trouble was very few of them were good enough.

Our deadly hot shot from 20 years ago managed to get a penalty onto the Staffordshire Moorlands.... I believe that ball is still in orbit. Did not hold the record for distance travelled though, that is still held by Wolves’ Robbie Dennison when the commentator said “Dennison passes to Venus”. That was one hell of a wayward pass.
