Disappointed he wasn't retained, pleased he is sorted.

On the Twitter post from Swindon announcing it, going off the majority of the Salop fans comments you’d think they’d signed the second coming of Cafu!
One of the most overrated players we’ve had in recent years. Wish him well though.

His misses against Wrexham and Charlton will live long in the memory.
Good luck Tunmise Sobowale.

A career that could go either way, but needs regular football and I'd hope we'd have good enough players next season that he wouldn't be getting it with us.
Definitely overrated by virtue of being one of the only players in a turgid squad to offer even a hint of excitement.

Good luck to him - League 2 is probably the right level at this point for him. I actually thought he was the most promising of the three signings from Ireland (admittedly not a high bar).

Lucky Swindon,
I'll get situated on the Cotswolds to catch some of his shots :-)

I believe that ball is still in orbit. Did not hold the record for distance travelled though, that is still held by Wolves’ Robbie Dennison when the commentator said “Dennison passes to Venus”.

I'm always pleased when our former players get a club. There are going to be an awful lot of players without Juan at the end of June.

Up there for player of season considering where he comes from and always liked going forward not just passing back and doing nothing else, glad he's sorted wish Hurst just coached him longer

Pleased for him.
Think he deserves another stab at league football. League one was probably a step too far but any team needs someone who is prepared to take players on, and he has that. Definitely not a full back, but as an attacking player down the right he offered more that most last season

It must be me as I thought he was pretty decent and with a close season could have been an asset. Seen worse. That's for sure.

It was missing because he had vanished up a blind alley.

Definitely overrated by virtue of being one of the only players in a turgid squad to offer even a hint of excitement. I was saying that last season. I found myself clamouring to be him in the first team just because he offered something slightly different but realised that just because he's 'unpredictable', 'raw' and 'powerful', it doesn't mean he's good enough to be playing in the third tier of english football. I've come to the conclusion that when we release a player, in some fans eyes it's a mistake, the player was an asset and will go onto prove us wrong by going onto better things (it rarely happens). However, of course when a player chooses to leave us of their own free will then the player is nothing special, in decline, inconsistent, overpaid and we can pick up better easily.

He is the kind of player a club like us should be investing in. Cheap with potential and a great attitude on the pitch. He was very inconsistent but for periods of some games he would tear teams apart. Other games he you'd forget he was on the pitch. If he was consistent he'd be going up to the championship and he's young so that's a real possibility. Just don't let him near the 6 yard box

If he was consistent he'd be going up to the championship To me you are describing someone like Derek Asamoah, when he wasn't in the mood it was like playing with 10 men, but on his day he could be unplayable, scores goals, makes a big impact on the pitch, could almost win a game by himself. I didn't see much of that from Sobowale this season. But going back to your earlier point, I agree that players like Sobowale are the ones that we've got to take a gamble on and obviously we won't get them all right so I don't blame Moore/Taylor for this turning out not to be a success. Probably on a low wage and we release him after 12 months, no harm done.

Not sure I ever saw Sobowale "tear teams apart"
Did see him beat a man then produce nothing of quality after numerous times mind.

Two 30-yard dribbles per game that amount to nothing does not a good player make. But as others have said, it shows just how truly turgid it was last year that he actually excited people.

I think the truth is more in the middle with Sobowale than most of the above.
He certainly didn’t tear anyone apart, and his finishing was embarrassingly bad but the fact he was able to carry the ball quite some distance and with raw pace/power when playing in that negative monstrosity of a team is a case for him, not against, I think.
Compare with Idowu who makes absolutely no impact at all, and Sobowale does have something about him worth preserving with for another low wages year. I can see why Hurst didn’t, but think he will make a football league career out of it yet.

I always liked watching him and he was really good up at Bolton and played 90 minutes. I understand Hursts reservations about his decision making and tactical awareness. He probably wouldn't fit too well into a "Well drilled side". However, I think a two year deal for him and then send him out on loan to League 2 may have turned him into the finished article. I'll watch his career at Swindon and wish him well.
