I was at the club earlier picking up my season ticket and Connor stepped out to take a phone call.
He looked deep in thought so he might have been in discussions with his agent.
Or it could have been his mum asking what he wanted for tea?

You choose to ignore the fact that both Goldson and Woods were in similar situations and continued negotiations in a civilised fashion and, unlike Ginnelly and his agent, did not behave like spoiled brats.
Not in the slightest, We are not on about last year, we are on about this close season, where both Goldson and Woods have had a job, therefore have not tried to push through a transfer, but your saying Ginnelly has..... which you are wrong with your facts.

You drew the comparison and the only comparison is when they both were out of contract and were offered new ones. Woods/Goldson did everything by the book. Ginnelly/Agent I don't think can even read the book. You are out of step by saying that the latter pair have done nothing wrong.

Sorry mate, you have gone off at a tangent, i did not draw any comparison at all, You did, and then stated that Ginnelly had a job, which you are incorrect about...... and they may be ignorant, but they are under no obligation to contact the club about his whereabouts, it has been blindingly obvious since prior to the end of last season when he did not accept a contract that he wanted out of here.......

I think Goldson will be gone very soon, to finance the signing of JG and JLAA. I think Bradford is the destination for around 300K, with add ons if sold on.

We transfer a player for £500k less than he's worth, and keep 3 players who MM doesn't want in order to get JLAA and JG on board. And whilst we've restocked midfield in preparation for Woods' departure, we have not added any central defenders to the squad, NKP isn't yet ready to return, and Dom Smith is injured and not ready for Division 1 football anyway. I'm sure most fans would rather say goodbye to JLAA and JG than transfer Goldson for that totally inadequate sum. It's better starting Goldson with Ellis than doing this. And to swap Shrewsbury for the hell hole that is Bradford doesn't seem the best of ideas.

This is all bo lex........I cannot believe anyone in their right mind would suggest a player with any ambition and the talent to more than match it, would move sideways to a club like Bradford City....even if, laughably as is being suggested, my manager was wanting to move me out.
It's threads like this that remind me that there are more than a few Lewis Carroll characters on this board, and the're not all Tories......for goodness sake get a grip everyone.......a few of us have rated Connor Goldson for several years and he is on his way to being one of the best defenders we have ever produced, but he knows he's not there yet......if the last manager had had his way Connor would now be looking for a way out of the National League with Cheltenham. If all this proves to be true then I'll keep my gob shut and go away and have to think very carefully about where the club is going.......there are a lot of smoke and mirror things going on at the moment around STFC but surely we can't be expected to believe all this hype.

Wanted by Swansea in 2014, has an excellent season and promotion and now wanted by Bradford. Don't make me laugh.

The bottom line is that Goldson and Woods have to go. Keeping these lads here isn't an option.
2013 - £275K Losses 2014 - £383K Losses 2015 - £300-400K Losses Forecast
On course for £1m losses in just three seasons. This simply isn't sustainable. It may well be we want to sell Goldson & Woods for the same £1.75m that Exeter pulled in for Grimes, but the reality is we'll have to take what their suitors are prepared to pay.
If Swindon had offered an acceptable amount then we would have allowed Goldson to speak to them. It will be the same with Bradford. The difference is that Bradford are a much more attractive proposition. City have sold 18K season tickets this season. Around the same number as Aston Villa. I doubt that Bradford have the cash to launch a serious bid but they may see Goldson as a short-term investment as another good season at L1 level could increase his value and profile.
Certainly more twists and turns along the way. Could be a long month....

Swindon offered £175k plus striker Miles Storey.
What a derisory offer and why would we want Miles Storey?

If you think Bradford City haven't got the money for Goldson you are wrong. Beside the cup monies from the last couple of years they have Jin the last two weeks pocketed 250k from Andre Wisdoms loan from Liverpool and 260k from selling a young forward to Swansea.

Players are like Houses, they are only "worth" what someone wishes to pay for them/ it.
Not some fantasy figure that exists in the ether and maybe not even there.

No one doubts that you have the cash but everyone doubts why he would want to go to a League One club when he has already turned down Premiership offers last Summer.

I am sure Bradford do have sufficient funds if they really push the boat out, unfortunately though he does not appear to want to join them. Whilst they are a bigger club, he should be looking to join a championship club to progress his career rather than moving to a team in the same division.

Bradford would be a club with sufficient ambition to convince Goldson that a season in the upper reaches of league 1 and a good chance of Championship football next season would be a decent career move............16-17000 season tickets sold will make Valley Parade a great place to play.
The thought of Goldson and Grandison turning out against us in succesive weeks depresses me somewhat.....................

Everybody seems to forget that Bradford City have been selling cheap season tickets for years. They had done it for a considerable time in League 2 without success.
