Shaun Whalley who played for Telford last season...hardly seems an inspired start to transfer dealings.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Whalley"On 27 April 2015, Whalley and team-mate Ricky Miller were both arrested by Bedfordshire Police in connection with an alleged assault following Luton Town's end of season awards night. Both were released on bail, but were suspended by the club pending a police inquiry"

New reporter from shrops star released it this morning pending medical checks, let's hope he fails them as Luton fans don't rate him at all....

He was on loan to the mighty Telford who wanted to sign him permanently.

Think he came on as sub against us last season at Luton and ran us ragged down the right wing, put four good crosses in, certainly impressed me.

I'd imagine he'll be cheap. But ten clubs in as many years with a fair % of them being non-league (including Telford and Wrexham!) hardly inspires much optimism.
Surely a squad player and bench warmer?
I'd imagine his MM connections come from his time playing with Southport, which ain't too far from Blackpool and Fleetwood.
Released by both Droylsden and Hyde! Omg.

How often will we play with wingers? Hence why Vincent was released. A squad addition is what we need rather stretching the budget for a regular first teamer. Still have Caton who's a winger too.

Like Mark Duffy, another ex-Southport player. On his day can win you a game single handed. Brilliant signing if true

Released by both Droylsden and Hyde! Omg. From memory I think Whalley was signed by Southport to replace Duffy when he was sold to Morecambe. Seen plenty of him in a Southport shirt and if he is fed the ball he can destroy a full back. Was sold to Luton from Southport for undisclosed fee. The nearest we will get to Duffy I think

Personally in my opinion i think that he would be a good signing because he made 19 appearance's for luton scored 3 goals picked up 2 yellow cards but does not have any red cards to his name this season. In 2013/2014 he made 16 appearance's scored just 1 goal picked up no yellow cards or red cards. www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=39596

Funny how we're no where near the earlier rumours of Craig Davies, Tomasz Cywka and Jacob Mellis with ex Barnsley connections...

A lad who'll be 28 at the start of the season with only one season of football league experience and never played higher than L2.
I'm willing to reserve my judgement until he's played a few games for us. I remember being fairly underwhelmed when we signed Andy Mangan and Jordan Clark from non-league and they didn't do too badly last year did they?
I imagine if Mellon persists with 5-2-1-2/5-3-2 then Whalley is likely to play as backup anyway.
