Ditch the forwards , we have a selection of the best attacking midfielders we've had for years , play a 4-2-4-0 and watch the goals stream in 👍 At which end ?? 😲 lets think positively, who know Hurst might be that desperate he might go on this board for ideas from us armchair managers .

Personally, I wouldn’t mind us trying 442, as long as we have the two Feeney’s at centre back! We seem to have enough creative midfielders but that doesn’t mean a thing if we can’t put the ball in the net!

I would like to see Hurst try the formation which worked for us under Graham Turner and one which I feel well qualified to advise him on. Goalkeeper, Right back, Left back, Right half, Centre half, Left half,Right winger, Inside right, Centre forward, Inside left and Left winger. Didn't always get us a win but combined with the Gay Meadow mud games were always entertaining. Those were the days. No complicated formations.

He would go with that I'm sure. 😉

People wanting 4-4-2 including two wingers need to answer some questions. Four defenders, two wingers and two strikers take up 8 of the 10 outfield spaces. What are the other two - holding m/f protecting our fragile defence, attacking m/f creating chances or one of each? Either way I can see us getting over-run in the middle of the park, as out and out wingers are not usually much use at tackling or tracking back.
