Now I've always been a cup games and local derbies are a leveller type of fan and for once I hope it's true , on paper the result is nothing but a Wrexham win but local derby suggests anything can happen so that's what I'm hoping for , a draw or better , come on town , great win today , the better side in the cup , anything can happen 👍

Next week's game reminds me of the 3-3 draw there in 2003....we were s**t, especially away from home, wrexsham were flying and near the top I think... thought we'd get battered, but jemson and Rogers were brilliant that night, pity our defence wasn't.....great game tho....we will see how it pans out next week🤔🤔

Main issue for us is that we only have four defenders available. Assume Winchester will be playing right-back if he’s fit. If he’s not fit then Gilliead will surely have to play there? Don’t think there’s any other option.

You had to wait a LONG time for your Cup final. Is it 17 years now, just think quite a lot of your fans wont even remember the last league game against us.

We last played at their place in 2007 in front of 4,305. They might be able to fool everyone else, but we remember how small their fanbase actually is.

And Nurse is obviously coming back very slowly. I reckon there is a decent chance Winchester wasnt risked today with foresight of Wrexham next week. Bench options are going to be very limited though

He's had 8 minutes in the last 2 years I hear what you are saying, but Nsiala will be ripped apart by the Wrexham attack - I'd risk it and it will mean that Feeney is not out of position. Hopefully Feeney Jr will be fit.

Don’t think there’s any other option. I thought Gilliead did really well in front of Perry especially the second half, it was the first game this season were the opposition were not able to walk through the midfield, so I hope he stays were he is . We definitely need someone to help Hoole because Perry can't be everywhere and the midfield and defence will face a tough test against Wrexham. Wrexham forwards look to be a physical presence and the wingers try to get the ball in the box as much as possible to keep the pressure on the defence.

I don’t think a draw would be a bad result for either side. We’ve had a good start and 4 points from trips to Bolton and Posh look a decent return, but we’re fortunate to have played them so early when they’re still gelling. Next away game is Brum and likewise they’re stuttering over the line and a bit disjointed at the moment, but will come good and probably dominate the league.
I know Hurst and Parkinson have huge respect for each other and it’s going to be a fascinating contest. We’re actually bottom of the league in terms of possession (35%) but joint top of the table. Our home form in the league is excellent P50 W43 D4 L3. However, your lads will have a spring in their step this week after yesterday’s result, and should be well up for the challenge.
The one thing that does concern me about next week is the potential for trouble. The knuckle draggers from both sides of the border can do what they want to each other, but let’s hope decent fans don’t get caught up in it.
I’m going for a 2-1 Wrexham win but wouldn’t be surprised with 2-2.

I'm strangely confident actually. A few ifs to that statement but...
If we can have a back line of Benning, Nurse, Fenny and Winchester we'll be alright If we can keep the attacking drive we saw yesterday from Lloyd we'll be alright If we keep the midfield ticking over, they all played so well!
I get thats a dream list, but I don't see the embarrassing result I feared a few weeks ago...

Can't see anything other than a wrexsham win.. they've got a very good home record TBF.....but we've got a very good away record there over the years, and derby games are very unpredictable.....we will see....all I want is a good game, and for Shrewsbury to make a very good account of themselves

Same line up as yesterday except Winchester for Hoole. Don't mess with a winning team, as long as everyone is fit.

Don’t think Nurse is even an option at CB to be honest. He’s a left back, I doubt he’s ever played in a centre back pairing in his life.
Plus he’s been injured for two years.
Looked really rusty in his cameo against Bolton, which is obviously understandable.
Nsiala did ok on Saturday anyway. Certainly didn’t look a liability.

We last played at their place in 2007 in front of 4,305. They might be able to fool everyone else, but we remember how small their fanbase actually is. Yes and I’ll always remind them and anybody who will listen this, they are a smaller club than us and some plastic Hollywood tag alongs will never change this And the fact they did 15 years in non league 😂 Can’t stand them - come on Town

You may want to look up historic attendance figures for the two clubs and make sure you are speaking from a place of authority (to save you doing this Wrexhams historic average attendance is higher than Shrewsburys) www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/englandcontent.htmShould be a good game. It's great to be playing Shrewsbury again on equal terms- a much better derby than that shower from Sealand road. Form definitely goes out the window for these sorts of games, and Hurst had a pretty good record against Wrexham as Grimsby manager.
