Next season could be a real problem for us as the loan market will not be anything like it used to be. Premier league clubs will be far more corsious, considering the points that have recently been deducted. If MK go up and Birmingham go down, then those seven clubs will more than likely occupy the top half of the table ๐. Of course anything can happen, but I'd be astonishing if from three games onward we even get in the top half never mind make it. Solihull could be going up to League two as well. Loan market seems to have really changed. premier league sides much less willing to loan players out and so that filters down. Town were very much not the only side that struggled to recruit decent loan players. Haven't seen stats but it certainly seemed like there were a lot less loans last season across the EFL that there has been for years

There's gems out there, last time Hurst found them (had a decent record of spotting them with Grimsby too). If he can find us a clone of Maghoma for Bolton we will be laughing. I also note the stats this season gone compare with the stats of 17/18 as well in terms of numbers, minutes and goals.

Maybe what I remember more then is clubs having players but who were not featuring, just like town really. Got the numbers but not the quality. But yeah definitely still some excellent players out there, maybe just harder to come by and clubs less willing to let them go then they were. Moore and Hurst I'm sure putting in the work over the summer but arent all clubs?

Charlie Ruff at Chelmsford City. Wow,now that's the sort of random name that we all love๐ Creative, goalscoring midfielder 24 years of age- 45 appearances, 19 goals this season but has never played above NLS level. The cynic in me says there's a reason why he's never played higher, but the dreamer says imagine if he was a success with us๐

With the debt we have I can't see us having much of a fund to bring players in, so Hurst has a real challenge on his hands, I have low expectations about the caliber of players we can bring in.

However, as we only had ยฃ80k in the bank as that point and Roland/Duncan have been bankrolling us then you'd assume there is now a debt, even if just to the two of them. Of course we don't know for how long they were doing that and when or even, if that stopped

It is possible to knock a team together with ' bargain buys' and loans....and it will be the same next season....and I look forward to seeing what Hurst comes up with..... there's plenty out there๐

Udoh had played at a higher level though, been through academy route and a was a couple of years younger than Ruff Ruff looks purely non league background, playing for clubs I've barely heard of. Not a problem but would be a huge jump to league one and pro football, and something he would have never had (unlike Udoh)

We need to look at players being released from championship clubs, and from premier academies, and also the better players from league 2 and conference....no need for me to tell Hurst what to do..... he's already on the case๐๐

The one problem may be that Wrexham have deep pockets and there manager has said they will need league 1 capable players, so I would think agents will be licking be there lips, as they try to get bigger wages for there clients bearing in mind even if Wrexham stick with there current budget it will place them .with some of the bigger wages budgets in the league. Let us hope that Hurst can pull a few rabbits out his hat. It wouldn't surprise me if Marosi signed for Wrexham. The keeper they played last season was only on loan to them.

There are plenty of players in non league/Irish/Scottish leagues who go on to have good careers at our level, the challenge is spotting ones who can make the step up. No manager/DOF/scout gets them all right, it's fair to say this season has been poor, lets hope the scouting is more successful next season.

We got John McGinlay from Elgin City - best forward I have ever seen play for the town - yes, that includes Grant Holt.
