I don't care who we get in as a replacement whether it be Hurst, or anyone else as long as they steady the ship.

At least Hursts departure gave us 2 million in the bank for 2 players that became 2 bob players very soon after...for that I thank him. I just hope it's Matt Sadler coming in. Another inexperienced bloke who hasn’t done particularly well at Walsall in his only job to date, no thanks. If Michael Duff is an option I’d go for him, even ignoring yet another Cheltenham connection, the man is proven at this level.

I feel for MT who seems a very nice guy and wish him very well for the future. I think he is also paying the price for the inadequacies of others as well as his own A sad day but a necessary decision

A genuinely nice guy, who handled himself with dignity and humility in an incredibly difficult position. This is the right decision, overdue in my opinion, but credit to Taylor for the ever professional way he conducted himself. I really do hope he's able to make a success of himself as a manager, sadly, after the relative 'failure' of both the appointments I do fear he's run out of chances.
Thanks Matt, and good luck.
Now, Hurst please on a contract until the end of the season.

Not surprised, he seems like a nice guy and I did want him to make a success of it, interesting if we do go for Hurst, whoever we go for I will get behind him like I did with Taylor

Like the Matt Sadler idea.
IMO sacking MT now puts us in the silly season, so here's some silly ideas:
1. Put Flanagan in temporary charge, he reckons he knows what's wrong. A super cheap option because he's already on the payroll? Tell him to put his money where his mouth is.
2. Come on BC, you must know people? Come in with a consortium to buy the club and put SC back in charge (I bet he wouldn't).

If Hurst doesn't come back what about Dave Edwards till end of the season? Even less experience than Taylor. Would we really want to put that pressure on him?

Let's hope none of the ones that get behind him have a knife in their hands, it sometimes seems that way with some managers, sometimes right from the start.

I know I don't really get that. I don't want Hurst really but if it does end up being him as manager I will support him and the team because I want to see us do well (:

Typical you go for a post lunch walk and everything kicks off.
Really does seem like its crisis management in the Town boardroom at the moment, and I'm not confident that we've hit rock bottom yet.
First we get the fall out from whatever happened with Cotterill the CEO and Wycherley last season; then the development of a new Director of Football route - with it unclear on how the new DOF got recruited; then after what we were told was and extensive recruitment for a new coach, the "chosen one" lasts just over 6 months.
Timing does seem a little odd as arguably the Stevenage result and performance was far worse than the Peterborough one yesterday, which did contain a few positives amongst the recent performances.
I'm assuming the sudden decision means Mr Hurst is coming in tomorrow and provides a bit of extra time for him to work on transfers and getting the team into shape for the next round of games. If he can get Henderson, Godfrey and Morris back on loan I fancy our chances of staying up, but fear a second return won't be as productive as the first spell in charge. Were it not for him being with us before, his record over recent years wouldn't even see him on the shortlist for the job, so its a big ask to recapture that spell again, especially with the financial struggles the club seems to be facing

Whatever the rights and wrongs were of Paul Hurst's departure, I will always be grateful for one of the best seasons in over 60 years of following the Town.
What's readily forgotten, is his achievement in steadying the ship when first appointed. He inherited a far worse squad than is currently in place (full of "league one ready" players, and a dressing room "full of captains") and performed miracles in keeping us up.
If the rumours are to be believed, then I'm sure that a team with structure and balance, with a system that suits the abilities of the players at his disposal, will soon follow.

"Going forward, be assured that management structures and new football strategies are already in place - the rationale for the actions we have taken will become evident in the coming weeks and months"
Would it be ok for someone to ask the chap who wrote this, whether we still be assured?
