But just as soon as Wrexham have stopped celebrating in front of a packed away end, after strolling through a 3rd round cup tie, then the current management arrangement has to to done away with.
Time for the blinkered despot at the top to realise this. Surely.

Hurst is still available if we are looking for a short term fix.

If we lose to Burton and get spanked against Wrexham I think the crowd will turn.
I hope Roland has told Moore and Taylor just how important that Wrexham game is to us as fans. Fans wont tolerate a back 5 sitting deep with 20% possession grinding out the game to a local rival a division below.

Which feels like a reasonably big if at the moment, admittedly. But still.

He probably will and all that will do is enhance MT to defend and try and catch Wrexham on the break as he’s be too scared to attack. Mind you that issue is partly down the lack of quality players currently available, question is will MM be able to attract some decent midfielders who can dribble and pass ( forward). We will see very shortly, regretably I’m not holding my breath.

Don’t get your hopes up, we had 25% v Notts County and they gifted us all 3 goals with defending that makes you think match fixing was at play Wrexham will turn us over, it’s going to be a horrific day As for the initial post, I cottoned on in September, they should’ve gone then - the long this charade goes on, the more we risk relegation and the longer term future of our club

I read some of the posts on this and other threads and I get the impression that some fans want us to lose in order to force the club to bring about a change.
Wanting the crowd to turn has become a popular call to arms on this and other threads.
The point of this thread is also beyond me, "not now obviously" so therefore why post it in the first place?

It’s easy to sit at home getting angry and after a few throw a grenade in here. Many use the grenade over and over.
Some do it at 4.00 in the morning.

Tricky one this, I was at Wycombe, and came away thinking Taylor might just about have worked out what he's doing. I was content with Portsmouth because, well, that won't define our season, and even second half against Peterborough we showed a little bit of fight, but yesterday was an abomination. We've got three pretty big games coming up, plus a January transfer window, but with the bottom four starting to breath down our necks it's going to get pretty uncomfortable I expect.
I still think we'll have enough to stay up, and we have to be honest about that being the sum total of our aspirations for any season in league one. Eventually, if it hasn't already, the novelty of being in league one will wear off and maybe we'll prefer some time as a big fish in league two

unfortunately just like with Askey, the fans haven't clicked with Taylor. id go and get Hurst and Doig until end of the season with the offer that if he keeps us up he gets 2 years. how that fits in with Moore i dont know, still think he has a place overseeing football operations he just has to relinquish first team control to PH but continue working with him on signings and scouting.

Is there any point in keeping Moore IF we change the coach for an experienced manager? What does he bring to the game that someone like Hurst doesn’t? Maybe he takes up the cost of a decent squad player?

if hes overseeing the entire football structure, including academy etc then i think its wise to keep him on board, especially when comes to contracts and budget, given what we have just been through, Hurst would have used Brian, where as i get the feeling Liam is more of a commercial CEO rather than football side

We have an under 18 side, no under 21, no reserves. We're playing the exact formation of last season with the same tactics, so what is he's bringing? If he'd come in with a new 3-4-3 inverted full back fancy new style of play and implemented it through the entire club from under 11 to the first team squad I'd get his purpose, but I simply don't get it? I genuinely have no clue what he'd be doing on a daily basis.

If the point of having a DoF is to allow the manager (now head coach) to focus his efforts wholly and solely on coaching the squad, improving players and getting results, then maybe we should have a head coach that can actually do these sort of things?

Imagine bring Barry Fry into a conversation when the bloke has brought in 10s if not 100s of players that they've sold on for a fortune; as well as playing some of the most attractive football in the league.

I do wonder if we’ve got a Director of Football why we never hear his opinions on anything? Seems to leave poor old Matty to face up to the fans and press. Whats his thoughts on how things are going?

I agree, we’ve already found the costs of change would be too much and may not change anything if we go for a new coach and stick with MM who’s proved nothing so far.

Hopefully we’d have some ‘break’ clauses in Matty’s contract, like minimum performance standards. The problem is this is unlikely with MM because RW had to make an attractive offer to get his man. A bit like he did to attract Cotterill which proved an expensive mistake in more ways than one.

Cannot see Moore going. He's been backed too much to rip it up after 6 months and start again.
And I'm still not convinced Taylor is that close. The project hasn't worked so far and the football is pretty awful but town still sit 15th, in 3rd round of fa cup.
Think it definitely needs to get worse for him to go. Especially as getting rid of Taylor on his own may not make a great deal of difference

Our two extra games played may be giving a false confidence. Whilst you wouldn’t expect all the teams below to win their games in hand (they’re down there for a reason), it only takes one or two of them to do so and we’re in the s**t. If it wasn’t for Wigan and Reading’s points deductions we’d be 17th with the extra games played so you can see why people aren’t accepting the current league position as the be all and end all.
It was only 3 weeks ago we beat Wycombe and were 10th which shows how quickly a poor run has you dropping down the league.
