Our two extra games played may be giving a false confidence. Whilst you wouldn’t expect all the teams below to win their games in hand (they’re down there for a reason), it only takes one or two of them to do so and we’re in the s**t. If it wasn’t for Wigan and Reading’s points deductions we’d be 17th with the extra games played so you can see why people aren’t accepting the current league position as the be all and end all. It was only 3 weeks ago we beat Wycombe and were 10th which shows how quickly a poor run has you dropping down the league. reminds me of town last season. xmas day 11th 3 games later 15th and then we snatched defeat from the jaws on victory in the fa cup same old salop

I read some of the posts on this and other threads and I get the impression that some fans want us to lose in order to force the club to bring about a change. Wanting the crowd to turn has become a popular call to arms on this and other threads. The point of this thread is also beyond me, "not now obviously" so therefore why post it in the first place? have you listened to the latest podcast ?, even Ollie has joined Chris now in thinking we actually have fans wanting town to lose, I almost started a war for daring to have that opinion weeks back, im relieved I wasnt dreaming it, its actually happening and more and more respected fans are seeing it and calling it out lets just hope their opinions are taken seriously and they are not singled out in a hate campaign

I've never met a town fan who genuinely wants us to lose. Can anyone say they have?
Much like the budget/inflation comments, if someone rambles on about it enough it starts sticking.

When you have the time, could you possibly highlight any instances that you are aware of on this forum where any Town fan has expressed the wish for the club to lose a game? It simply isn’t true and you are being completely disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

Whilst MT promised similar months ago, the only thing being blown away at a Salop game recently is my handkerchief by owd Gerrit when wiping the tears away following another abject performance.

"We also beat Cambridge, Burton and Port Vale" he said disingenuously: 5-1 0-4 3-1 Imagine the crowing we'd get from our moderator if we even won one game that convincingly this season. I mean, you'd have to imagine it given it hasn't come close to happening. But still, imagine. Fully expecting something along the lines of "Jordan Shipley is on 15 grand a week" in the thread now and/or a load of personal abuse in my DMs for pointing this out, but Pilch does love a stat and I'd hate for him to not be giving the full picture.

I hate stats!
Only thing that matters is what we do now. We have a respected figure in the game leading the team and a new backroom team, a time of flux. Start of season expectations were to stay up and do the mid table thing, seem to be on track on that score. What's Matt done wrong? Seems giving the players Christmas day off was one thing. He's perhaps too nice. But he's decent, honest, and none of the management team are going anywhere while we continue to be in a reasonable position. So let's get behind them. Aim now has to be a good transfer window, league 1 safety and more attractive football.

They fail the eyesight test every week, you only have to watch it with your own two eyes to know it’s dross. Not a single stat required.

In the past I've certainly heard throwaway comments like "if we lost this weekend and it meant that <insert manager> went then I'd take it", but haven't heard anything like that this season. To be honest, I think a lot of fans are a bit confused what to think as the football has been dull as hell but the league position has been respectable.

Let's see what they can do about it. You don't seriously believe what managers say to Stuart Dunn do you?

Probably because he is 'too nice' and gives them xmas day off.

Christmas day off is fine when you are hitting the required levels. But when you throw in one of the most inept performances of the last decade on Boxing Day, people will rightly ask questions.
As a reminder to those in the tinted specs, we didn't muster a single shot on target against bottom of the league.
