Well done England. You kept fighting to the end and got your just rewards.
But in all honesty the Aussies bottled it. It has to go down as the biggest highjack of the month.
If Mo doesn't find some form soon he is going to have trouble keeping his place in the squad, never
mind the team. It's such a strong batting line up squad-wise, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them
opening with Banton & Buttler if Roy and Bairstow don't fire !! Malan has proved he is a very good T20 player, Stokes to come back too, and hopefully he can bowl as well !
and I still think that there is a case for both Root and Willey to be in the squad for the next World Cup.

Stokes missing upsets the balance of the side, which was a batsman light last night.
If they are only going to use Moeen for one over then they might as well replace him with Billings, as apart from that one innings v Pakistan his batting has been dire. And even then, he got out at a crucial time and we lost the game. Malan can bowl leg breaks if they need a 6th bowler for a couple of overs.
I'm still absolutely mystified why Willey wasn't selected. We need to take wickets in the 1st few overs. Last night there was no sign of us doing so. A left armer would have provided some variation too.

I think I'm right in thinking that Mooen has bowled just 3 overs in the last 3 T20s? If that's the case then it's hard to understand why he's in the side.
To be fair to him, when he has bowled in tandem with Rashid in the past they have complimented each other.

Final group games in the Bob Willis trophy start today. It will also be Ian Bell's final game before he retires.

Great to see both England's opening bowlers at pace...
Australia just lost their 3rd wicket.

Mmmmm not a wise choice giving Agar Zampa that 19th over bish bash bosh game over England win by 6 wickets with 7 balls to spare.

It was Zampa, not Agar, who bowled the 19th over, and to be fair he had bowled well. If Archer hadn’t bowled a shocking last over, we’d have won much easier. However, apart from that, almost a perfect performance. Rarely can you say in a T20 that a batsman doesn’t look like getting out, but today Buttler was like that.

Was a bit nervous when Moeen was batting cos on the whole recently he's found ways to get out prettty quickly but the 6 of the 1st ball of that over pretty much sealed the deal.

The things I liked about yesterday's game:
1. Archer and Wood bowling at 90mph+. Now we just need to unearth the next generation of fast bowlers that will be managed carefully.
2. Morgan's captaincy. He now must be one of the best white ball captain's in the world.
3. Joss Buttler. What a controlled innings that was. A sign of great maturity.
4. Adil Rashid. He's now one of the first names on the team sheet. Economical and takes crucial wickets.

It has been Tom Curran, not Sam, who has played in the 1st 2 T20 games against Australia. He used to be known as Virgin but then I was vociferously asked to change it. (Ironically this flies in the face of the naysayers who claimed ‘Shagger’ was derogatory when it’s clearly a compliment). Nowadays it’s a little like ‘minute’ and ‘minute’ or ‘fair’ and ‘fair’. Homonyms where the writer relies on the reader using their knowledge of English to understand which meaning is being referred to.

Tough going, Eng 145-6
16 off Archer's first over ...
going to need all 10 wickets to win this I think .. 8 7 6 5 more to go!
Aussies win by 5 wickets but didn't think they'd take until final over .... shame we don't have 2 adil Rashid's!!!

Are England going to have the courage to drop Archer, because he’s a liability at he moment?
