It's interesting that the ECB also have Pace Bowling Development Contracts for:
Saqib Mahmood (Lancashire), Craig Overton (Somerset), Olly Stone (Warwickshire).
Nothing in place though for our next genuine leg/off spinners.
England's current fastest bowler, Mark Wood has to make do with only a white ball central contract.

Is England the only Test playing nation without a 'proper' spinner on central contract ?

I watched the end of the Notts v Leic game last night. I wonder how the Two Leic fielders are feeling this morning after gifting Notts the game !!

Also very disappointing that Edgbaston only has a solitary ODI vs Pakistan, which will be like an away fixture.

So a 5 test series vs India, 3 ODIs vs Sri Lanka, 3 ODIs vs Pakistan and 3 T20s also vs Pakistan.
So loads of white ball cricket before the proper stuff starts on the 4th August.

The ECB statement seemed to imply that test match’s and T20s could still be arranged vs Sri Lanka in the month of June. The announced schedule starts at the end of June so I assume if the pandemic situation allows we may see even more international cricket. No word yet on where the hundred fits into it all...

The world is passing me by 😅
I didn't realise that England had started their white ball tour of South Africa today. I only realised they were playing today when it got mentioned on BBC 5 live.

The ground is just as I remember it. I recall one of our more belligerent batters hitting Colonel Sykes for several sixes into the trees on the right. Some muttering about whether it was sporting to treat the bowling of an elderly one legged man that way ensued.

Cathedral C C, this would be over 50 years ago! Would a certain Mr. W.E. Jones ? have been playing for Cathedral ? Yes, Wally Jones. I think he took over as club secretary when my Dad retired. It wasn’t him who hit the sixes, he was far too cautious to hit the ball in the air.
