with the top five teams all on 11 points ,Ipswich are top on goal difference. they have score 11 goals and conceeded 4 goals, so Ipswich are close to scoring three goals to evry town goal ! , so no wonder there fans are confident about the season .
as town's injuries continue to mount we are looking rather light on options for the forwards ( Ricketts was confident we would sign another forward) i was relived to hear that Pierre will be playing before he goes off on international duties.
town will do well to get a point we have seen how town tend to play, so we can excpect town to spend a lot of time in there own half, if we have Goss fit our midfield might look sharper after a pedestrian performance, let us hope we can see thompson come in for the last twenty minutes to give is some pace and more charging runs. morison and whalley will start unless udoh is fit and if fit he will more pobabley come on as a sub.

Ipswich GD boosted with the 5-0 against Bolton, rest of their games not so convincing. Hope some of the injury list clears; earlier in week I thought we’d struggle to name 18. Anyway, my first game this season so COYB!

I read somewhere that Pierre would be missing for Ipswich due to his Grenada call up but the international break isn’t until the following weekend so I don’t see why he should be missing, he will be up against two Hereford FC players who have been called up for St.Kitts/Nevis who will take on Grenada on September 5th, nice easy game for him then UPDATE - just read the earlier posts!

Any one heading to Ipswich by rail via that London should be aware that the Circle & Metropolitan lines are out of action on Saturday.
So from Euston take the Victoria line Southbound to Oxford Circus and change to the Central line Eastbound. Or the Northern line (Charing Cross branch) Southbound to Tottenham Court Road, and change to the Central line Eastbound. You can admire the new Crossrail-ready station at Tottenham Court Road if you go that way; over a century away from the old warren of tunnels there that were featured so dramatically in American Werewolf in London.
From Marylebone, take the Bakerloo Southbound, and change at Oxford Circus.

I'm sure Thompson will get a nice friendly welcome from the locals if he plays.

Could be the ideal afternoon to resurrect the 'Paul Hurst's Blue and Amber Army' chant?

I don’t share your thoughts at all. We should have a match fit midfield (well hopefully) and the forwards may well come good, where I feel we may be one short. But Ipswich have not been great this season and only been nicking games by the odd goal, apart from the 5 they put past a weak Bolton team, which is the only reason they are top on GD. We always have a decent chance in L1 because we have decent players. I don’t think we have loads to worry about there, should be a good game.

With Mr Kettle in charge I am now more confident of a town win. He loves to wind up a big crowd with a controversial decision. Hope we have decided on who is going to take a penalty.

Not usually a good sign when everyone can remember a referee's name and this bloke is an absolute legend among football fans up and down the land. Loves to be the centre of attention just like our old friend Deadman and will often be having a reasonably good game but all of a sudden make an incomprehensible and controversial decision.Expect the unexpected!

Ex-Norwich striker Steve Morison to score his first goal is my guess!

Both been injured and only recently back training. So unlikely I'd think.

Looking forward to this one as the last time I went to see us at Ipswich was in a cup replay against that very good Ipswich side of Bobby Robson's. Their record this season is rather rosier than it should be as they had the advantage of playing Bolton Youth while teams like us will have to play a much stronger Bolton side with some men in it (how fair is that!). Nevertheless it should be out most difficult test this season but Rickett's teams have risen to occasions like this in the past and I am hoping for a stirring Stoke/Accrington comeback and our first ever win there.
