That is a very good decision. Well done the club, glad they listened and have made the right decision.

Frankly the embarrassing U-turn could and should have been avoided. Hopefully leads to better consultation before decisions like these are taken. Totally agree. Great the club has back tracked and not left it 7 years to fix like the badge shambles, but ideally let's try consulting and developing ideas first not sticking them out there and having to back track later

We'll done to the club for listening, and of course to those fans who were on the clubs case straight away, even if the price increase didn't affect then personally.

Can somebody explain to me which band of ST prices they have been frozen at?
my first thought was that it was all planned but either way I am happy its only 20 quid I know I can get a few mates to come along at that price when I wouldn't have even tried to tempt them to pay 23 quid.
The fact that their is no price increase on the day will also encourage more people to decide to come on the day whilst still encouraging people to book in advance to reduce waiting time.
One thing I have wondered about is the administration fee when booking in advance (£1), does it still apply? if it does people will be more inclined to buy on the day which will increase work load for ticket office staff and make people wait in long cues.

An excellent response from the club to a mess they got themselves into.
Having not had a ticket that cost more than £19 last year though, I'm slightly confused by the statement that tickets are cheaper this year?

I think it was £21 last year if you bought in the last hour before kick-off so they are comparing with that i am confused by the season ticket statement as the link on the website only shows daily prices - have they gone back to the May/June prices ? - if so there should be a jump in season ticket sales

Are they Scoot? I think you're right. But what about the children's prices which are more expensive?
I'm pleased the ill thought out membership scheme was scrapped, but it's still not all good news, and to state that tickets are cheaper than last year is incorrect.

Gives day prices for block 1,2,16 and not 8,9,17,18,19 etc so guess they are same as last year at £19.00 but don't know if that's category A/B (What ever that means) ? or if its on the day.

Good move but shouldn't they have consulted the supporters first before getting into the mess? This all seems a bit on the hoof to me.

A fair bit of damning with faint praise from some on this board!
The club have listened carefully to feedback from supporters and acted positively, thus ensuring a win win situation for everyone . This is a great move by the club and well done to those supporters who gave feedback on the matter. People now know that their views do matter and will be listened to by the club hierarchy.
We can do our bit from August onwards by attending in big numbers and getting behind the lads .

Pleased there is the changes but I thought the same as I didn't pay more than £16 last year for a game. Must say was amazed at that pricing last season.

As a whole football is to expensive but if we offer tickets at 16 quid we could be giving our rivals an advantage. I believe the price is fair, would by interesting to see how we compare with other clubs. now.

20 sits us right in the mix when it comes to comparison.
It doesn't make us responsible for taxing away fans.
It means you can invite friends without being embarrassed.
Cheapest matchday price was 21 for adults last season.

£20 is reasonable these days. I think the new system probably has slightly higher average and lowest prices but a cheaper max price and nice simplicity. Add in the apparent likelihood of up to 8 special deal matches and I think we have to say well done to the club for listening to us and getting it spot on. Just wish I was going to be coming back home sometime this year, but alas not

Hold the celebrations... 100% increase in the price to take an under 11 on a family ticket... Was £1 (and you could take another for free) now £2 (I think) I think hank we can live with that so we'll done all at STFC

Excellent news.
I would just reiterate what many have already said since this change was announced, it is very pleasing that the club has listened to its customers. Well done STFC, you now have a customer happy and back on board!

Goood. Very good. Takes more strength to make the change than to dig their heels in, so a very positive sign.
Not sure I get why blocks 1, 2 & 16 are Category A though? Block 2 in particular must be the worst in the ground. You have to sIt near JT.

I am new to the forum after being an interested spectator for quite some time, but had to comment on the ticket prices from my point of view. Whilst it is commendable and praiseworthy that the club has listened to the fans on this issue, it does not solve the fact that last year I could take two of my children to watch a home game for £20-£21, this year the equivalent tickets will cost £27. Whilst it could be argued that I was getting an exceptional deal last year, (I would agree that it was indeed a good value way to spend a Saturday afternoon), the increase this year will unfortunately mean that I will need to cut back on the number of games we can attend. As a self employed man of fairly limited means, I cannot afford a season ticket or indeed the outlay for a flexi ticket, the price increase leaves me with little choice but to come less often, and consequently and more importantly the two budding Shrewsbury faithfull you would assume the club wish to nurture?

Think they'll have to have a rethink on the rethink cos you can't make the statement below and then charge more.. Just a blip hopefully “As a result we have been able to review our match day admission prices for the new season and have decided not to proceed with the membership scheme and our match day prices will be cheaper than they were for the 2013/14 season."

To be quite honest though it’s still expensive for 4th tier football.
I personally still wouldn’t want to pay 20 quid to watch 4th division football.
The only real value for money is the early bird.
And before anyone does a price comparison, football in this country is expensive full stop.
