Not happy about this at all. Have to pay £5 for a membership which gives me the privilege of paying £2 more per ticket than I paid last season.

Yep, cheapest way to see a single game goes from £16 to £20 with an additional £5 membership card required.
In fairness, majority of people would have bought tickets no more than a week or two beforehand so more like a £1 or £2 rise, albeit for a lower league.
Difficult balance between trying to sustain income on what may well be significantly lower gates compared to last season, and maintaining reasonable pricing. Selling a couple of thousand membership cards seems essential.
£23 for a game for those without a membership card? Expensive.
I wonder how the 2,000 or so home fans who aren't season ticket holders will feel about it. Like I say, good uptake of membership cards is vital.

Also, you may have to fear for away fans......

Another appealing money saver on offer is our new five-match Flexi Ticket, where supporters can select five games and receive a significant discount overall.
Phil Thomas will be delighted.... he been asking for this for years... a great idea for exiles.
To be honest its a bit weird that when we asked about that in a meeting we were told it could not be done!

Strange they have not rolled this into the "legends card".
I predict that the legends car may be slowly and surely retired at some point.

Are we really buying into this? Last season an adult supporter going to a game as a one off could get a ticket for £16, this season it is £23, this seems a massive price hike and very wrong to me.

I always though the dynamic pricing was perfect for exiles (and better value than the five match ticket) but clearly didn't work out.

Its a bit strange, and i'm a little disappointing this was passed by fans first, via the Supporters Parliament. Shame. From what I know very very few people ever purchased the £16 ticket (not to say none), so in reality the price increase is less than £16 to £23, but its still an increase AFTER relegation.
Makes the early bird Season ticket that I got look even better value though, and does now make the purchase of a season ticket now more attractive too.
I can see this being the first bit of negative feedback the club has had for a fair few weeks!

I used it and hoped to take advantage of it by bringing friends down for the odd game this season, that won't happen now as I can't see them being happy to pay £23 for one game of 4th division football.

Really?
So what will happen to the Turner plaque thing?

I just can't justify that. 20 notes would make me think twice. 23 notes is just for 4th division football.

Is it just me or have they also done away with concessions for students?

To be honest its a bit weird that when we asked about that in a meeting we were told it could not be done! Sounds good, although depends on details. Ie how far in advance do you have to decide which games your going to use it for? And where will you be sat?! From that press release it seems that if you buy a membership card there will be no difference in tickets between buying hours before the game and a day before as opposed to a £2 cost for leaving it late? Something I always thought put off casual fans but something that they've always insisted had to happen

Can someone check my maths?
Category B
Membership card - £5 23 games at £20 a game (lowest price) = £465 Total for the Season = £470
Price per game – £20.43
5 Game flexi Ticket
Membership Card - £5 Price per 5 games - £90 Price for 20 games - £360 Price for last three games (using £20 a game as above) - £60 Total - £425 (£5+360+60)
Price per game - £18.47
Can that be right, but using the flexi ticket there is a significant saving to be made. If you miss three games a season you might as well buy them in these packs of five as its only £18 a game compared to £20 for one ticket. Thats pretty decent value at our level I would think, but the benifits of doing this way are not clear. The message needs to get out there that with a membership card the 5 ticket option is only £18.47 per game...
Season Ticket
Now costs - £400
Price per game - £17.39
Season ticket is now, rightly the cheapest way to get a ticket.
The differences between a one off ticket and packs of five though are even more stark in Category A. Saving of about £4 per game.

No price rise is ever going to be popular but I'm not going to bash this for the sake of it.
As an ex-STH, membership seems the way to go - £18 per game on a flexi-ticket's not too bad. Bit confused by the pricing though.
Is a "Match Day" price really the price for any single game, whenever you buy the ticket - ie no discount for buying in advance?
Does the 5 game flexi-ticket apply to any 5 games - ie you use it till you've seen 5 games, or do you have to pre-select the games?
Junior pricing is very confusing. Prices are shown for 12-16 year olds and 16-18 - which category does a 16 year old go into!?
Pity that over 18s go straight to adult prices (unless I've missed something). No concessions for young adults (or students/unemployed)? That's a big disappointment. I thought the club was doing something for that group - am I wrong?

We were always told the £2 matchday difference was a stipulation of the safety group weren't we? I am glad it's gone, but not so everyone can pay it every game.

No student price is odd. Usually grouped with senior price isn't it? Hopefully that's rectified.

So am I reading it correctly that the Buy before the day discount has completely gone?
I could understand they discount card being introduced, but assumed it'd run alongside the £2 discount if bought before matchday.
It's just made those who bought the early bird season ticket get a bargain.

confused.com
we are at a lower level of football but being asked to pay MORE - irrespective of the alleged deals. I don't expect to pay Heinz prices if I am now buying my beans at Aldi (other discount retailers are also available)
Come back Sean and sort this out!!
Think urine is being extracted

I think this latest release will possible push the Season Ticket sales up a little bit more now, because it still gives a saving and it can be paid for over 10 months if that option is desired!

This is great news and a dynamic way to pay for 'The Great Fightback' whilst getting rid of 'the unwashed' (students) at the same time Interesting to see that the author of the article is Shrewsweb as no one else was prepared to put their name to it Makes my early bird ST even better value than last year at £285 plus £20 for the grandson comes out at £13.26 per game.... Thanks for the sponsorship ..... Haven't read the rest of the thread yet I'm just going to check everyone else is as pleased as me

Think urine is being extracted Playing devils advocate here, but is there any precedent for teams reducing ticket prices following relegation at this sort of level? I remember Swindon were charging £25 in their last foray in League Two, Stockport are still charging the same match day prices as they were in 2010 although they are now playing two leagues below. Ticket prices are far too expensive across the board, will wait to see the full detail on the new pricing structure before passing judgement.

It does seem that casual visitors like me are being asked to pay substantially more money for lower division football. But given the club's level of investment in the squad and the genuine commitment to getting back up asap, I'll swallow the premium prices – and be very happy when we gain promotion!

No, but if I recall the party line behind the increase two years ago was to 'fall in line with the higher standard of football' following promotion. I might have paraphrased that a bit but someone may be able to find the press release somewhere. Therefore one would assume the same premise to apply following relegation although I for one certainly didn't expect it to.

Just having a quick look around League Two clubs of similar "Size" £19 advance and £21 on the day seem to be about the going rate.
I must say the different categories, member/non-member deals we are offering make it hard to do a direct comparison. If you were to buy a ticket purely as a one-off, we are definitely on the expensive side!
