If we HAVE to go cheap at least go for someone like Gary Hackett!
Has done a brilliant job at Stourbridge and knows the club....unlike Al Murrays ugly brother.

Bentley was a decent lower league / non league player in your Tommy Lynch style and very committed.
He's done a decent job at Morecambe.
I could think of far, far worse.

Issue is we could do so so much better.

The only (realistic) person I would want less would be Steve Evans.

In the Star this afternoon, Brian Caldwell is now stating that the club have now received over 100 applicants. He says that all of these deserve their cv to be looked at. The process of compiling a short list for interviews will then begin. This will surely take a few days and I would imagine that leading contenders may well be invited to a second interview. This seems to me, to be a sensible and logical approach. If, and it's a big I if, the club approach Morecambe tomorrow, all the above would appear to be fiction. That being so, I don't see BC hanging around long if he is branded as untruthful.

Jim is sat in his bedroom crying his eyes out you rotten sods! I'm going to have to make him Birdseye crispy pancakes with potato waffles for his tea to cheer him up now!

It seems to have gone out of fashion but I wonder if we may see a player/manager in contention for the role? Probably not from within aalthough Ian Black could be an outside bet.

Given his disciplinary record he will probably spend a fair bit of time in the dug out anyway...maybe not such a bad shout

Although if they are looking at over 100 applications and Bentley says he hasn't been approached is he a likely candidate anyway?

The worry is that some are suggesting that Bentley is already a done deal.

This Bentley rumour is becoming a worry.
Surely Roly cannot be serious?

Might be utter s**te...and hopefully is.
The thought of it is scary enough though.

Most people got what they wanted in Mellon going.
This is the possible outcome.
Tough.

Bentley is lucky Morecombe still want him looking at their lack of doing anything except struggle to stay up, never mind the ridiculous idea of him coming to us .

Dont want to spoil all the fun but wouldn't it be less heartache to wait until someone is appointed before getting upset?

Ryan Giggs came out yesterday and said he realises he may have to serve his apprenticeship as a manager at a lower league club. Lucky he wasn't boss last season though as that could've complicated things even more so during 'affairgate'.

Yeah, if we are going for someone who keeps low budget teams in Division 2 then Accrington's Coleman has a better track record, only to fail when he extended himself and went to Rochdale. Still is another example. Great with Dagenham and Redbridge but failed with Luton. Both managers are now back with their original Clubs.
