So we play Huddersfield a team second in the league and unbeaten. When we could have lost 1 -7 to Peterborough .it is a bit concerning that Huddersfield beat them 0-2. However Stevenage scored a goal against them No update on Winchester groin injury. In Star. Hurst made it clear he would only be looking to bring in one loan player. After some disappointing performances in the midfield and a dire defensive performance against Fulham, You would expect Hurst to be working on trying to sort out the issues and tactics to bring the best out of the team, with some extra fitness training for our two center backs. So my heart hopes for a point as we need one for team confidence and the fans , my head says we will lose 4-0

I know this is not his position and I don't like playing players out of his position but I was wondering would it be worth trying Bloxham as a holding midfielder he has the speed, physicality and he is good in the air? Obviously it would need some time extra training and for a bit he may be like a fish out of water but as we look to be only bringing one more Loan player in, what we have is what we have got and we need to think out of the box and do the best with what we have got, as Rossiter is injured and whilst Winchester does his best he does not have the physicality.

Over 600 away tickets sold. For me personally, whilst it would be a new ground and I want to support the team, I cannot justify £50+ and a whole day on something I currently feel so bleak about. Hope the town can pull off some sort of shock but severely doubt it.
Savin
Hoole - Nsiala - Pierre - Benning
Biggins - Perry
O’Reilly - Shipley - Sagoe
Kayode
Subs: Young, Bloxham, Lloyd, Marquis and some empty seats.
Prediction: 3-0 defeat

I very much suspect we will see a version of the low block at Huddersfield either by design or default when our midfield cannot retain the ball. The only bright spot of Hurst's return so far has been some improved away performances so that at least holds out some hope for us to cling to.

Probably a formation change if Winchester, Rossiter and some of the others are injured.

I'm hoping to see an improvement in towns pressing and give opposition less time on the ball, with an increased work rate to make up for the issues the team has.

I would love nothing more than to be celebrating a shock victory which kick-starts our season but can't see it. Even with a full strength squad we'd be up against it but with a defensive partnership of Pierre & Toto and the midfield missing Rossiter & Winchester, it's going to be hard going.
That may be seen as negative but we are 7/1 to win with the bookies so they haven't got a lot of faith in us either

Need a holding midfielder, everybody knows that, perhaps that's what Hurst is bringing in on loan....hope so....as well as toto and Pierre....hoole and benning need to tighten up in defence too....don't blame it all on the centre backs!!

Huddersfield the team my favorite player of all time played for. Frank Worthington. They don't have anyone like that now so we should keep the score reasonable. My prediction is another Nil points but a solid performance

Don't apologise. This is going to be tough fixture after all. Hopefully the Captain will be fit to start.

Anyway forget all the doom and gloom where’s everyone drinking before the game? I'll be having a couple in the "lambs to the slaughter" and then a quick one in "the cemetery" and after the game I'll be drowning my sorrows in "the chairmans arms"

Expect we will take a pasting but I hope i'm wrong - a point would be great and confidence building
Anybody know if it's pay on the day? Or advanced buys only?

As a ground we've never (I think?) played at which isn't that far away from us on a Bank Holiday weekend, this feels like one we should be taking 1000+ to even with the ongoing cricket season. We always seem to travel well to grounds we haven't been to recently. 600 is a decent initial effort but will be curious to see what the final number is in the current mood.
Been overshadowed by Birmingham's even more spectacular fall and summer spending, but Huddersfield are another side that shouldn't really be in this division and haven't been for a while now, and like Birmingham are only here because of poor decisions off the pitch over the last couple of seasons and have spent a bit of money in the summer. Probably wouldn't be expecting much of this at the best of times, and as it is...well. You can get over 6-1 on us to win if you subscribe to the the "well, we tend to do better against better sides" urban myth.
On the plus side, Huddersfield is an underrated town with some cracking boozers, and what the transpennine express service lacks in reliability it makes up for with the vistas out of the train window.

I'll have to wait to see the injury news but already Winchester's role in the squad is pivotal.

I remember back in the eighties we beat them twice one season 5-1 home and away, wouldn't mind that score again 😂

Lost 2-1 but memorable for the Chris Withe chicken goal celebration. Think they went up via the play offs as we didnt play them the following season. Huddersfield also memorable for us doing the double over them a few years earlier at their old ground. Both to the tune on 5-1. I was only at the home game for that.

My prediction is Huddersfield Town 6-0 Shrewsbury Town Don't go on the Huddersfield message board as 6-0 seems to be a low prediction according to their fans🤪
