the only time we have played them this century was in 2016, we beat them 2-1 in the cup, the next season they got promoted to the premier league
the bookies have us at the 3rd largest outsiders this weekend behind Brentford at Liverpool and Ipswich at Man City
everything points to a huddersfield win
all I ask tomorrow is we give 100% along with the fans, and before we kick off I'll be as hopeful as ever but knowing we'll need everything to go for us
what will be annoying tomorrow is seeing any of our fans act shocked if we lose, and enter into another tantrum its embarrassing to see and does zero to help
come on town

Exactly Pilch. I felt our boys couldn't give anymore against Peterbro. All we can do is hope for the same. If we get anything it will be a big bonus

We always historically play well against the better sides. I think we are going to either take one hell of a beating or win 1-0 🤫

Unlike some I don't see any meltdown or tantrums should we lose tomorrow.
We go into this game more in hope than expectation. But hey, football is a funny old game so you never know đź«°

During a game I will always get behind the team and give them praise were it is deserved. On this forum if they are rubbish or unfit then I will say what I see I do try to get a balance but sometimes that is challenging. I'm sure the traveling fans will be as vocal as possible, last time I saw the numbers going it was 600 which is great considering the coast of living etc, let us hope you see a performance that makes you and all other town fans happy

Surely that’s expected when we’ve had a poor start with little expectation for any improvement coming out of the club. Tantrum no but disappointment and even some anger regarding our current position seems quite acceptable.

Our away form against bigger teams last season was pretty good. I’d take a point and going for a 1-1. Our record against the top 6 last season was drew 2 and lost 4 Sorry I meant our away form once Hurst had taken over was pretty good: Northampton (W) Derby (D) Reading (W) Lincoln (L) Port Vale (W) Bristol R (D) Portsmouth (L) Bolton (D) Charlton (D) Overall, not bad although there were a couple of stinkers in there, especially Lincoln away.

Town generally do better on the road under Hurst and against the better sides. I'm not holding my breath but football is played on the grass and not in the form book.

Paul has said that there is another player to add to the injury list. Better to get the injuries before the window closes, be too easy to use it as an excuse but there’s a chance to do something about it now.

Paul has said that there is another player to add to the injury list. At what point do we stop seeing these endless injuries as some bizarre coincidence, and start questioning our training/recovery methods? They’ve been pretty constant since Cotterill. Loads of pretty serious ones as well.

Really looking forward to this one, but mostly as it's a stadium I've wanted to visit for a long time. Doubtless I'll have plenty of time to ponder our inevitable defensive frailties on my long drive back to Suffolk. Always liked the old Leeds Road stadium one of those sprawling open terraces with flood lights on each corner you could see from miles away. Not sure if it’s still there but there used to be a metal plate on the exact spot the centre circle used to be, in what is now a b&q car park on Leeds Road which was a nice touch when the ground moved

Tantrum no but disappointment and even some anger regarding our current position seems quite acceptable. there was an interesting debate 3 years ago, a certain SC in charge, 4 games in 4 defeats ,zero goals you'd think I'd be blaming the manager wouldn't you ? ( ok it was obvious our pre season was a shambles, and our squad too small, but I didnt see the point posting that on every thread) so there I am suggesting its ok, explaining we have been punching about our weight and the yo yo will kick in sooner or later. on the other hand, you are explaining how healthy and well run the club is, telling us to stop suggesting the club might not be here in 5 years as its totally wrong, and at the same time telling us Sc***horpe , Burton & yeovil have done better than us I could copy and past my argument tomorrow no matter what the result, I guess yours will change depending on the score on the day and will probably be way off the mark again ;-) blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/102025/long-term-plan-philosophy

Can you pay on the gate tomorrow? no idea, I would give huddersfield a ring, im guessing you can buy a ticket at the office there but I would check first I see they gave us 1066 tickets, and seeing they are not too far away from stamford bridge , it could be a bit of a battle tomorrow

Was one of 7 Town fans on that big terrace for 2nd Leg of League Cup game. Other 41 Town fans went in the stand. Always remember for the 3-0 FA Cup win when we scored passed three different keepers the number of bearded Town fans going in via Under 16s gate. Coach got bricked after the game

Can you pay on the gate tomorrow? Been saying for years, I have no idea why they don’t clearly state at the bottom of every ticket update whether it’s possible to pay on the day or not.

Been saying for years, I have no idea why they don’t clearly state at the bottom of every ticket update whether it’s possible to pay on the day or not. it's because they want people to buy tickets before hand , a, so they know how many are coming b, can't change their mind when it's bad weather on the day

I was there for the 5-1 win at Leeds Road in 1984. I remember Gary Stevens scored the first 4 goals from 4 shots on goal and I missed the last goal as we left early to “beat the traffic”! Swore never to leave a match early ever since and never have!

Hurst has said pre-match that we have picked up another injury but he expects two of the injured players to be available.

Trying to be positive. Let us hope Hurst has found a way to stop the opposition walking through the midfield If we can cut out the silly mistakes, press hard all over the pitch and not let them settle into a rhythm we can life a bit more difficult for them. At every opportunity we need to get the ball on the ground to the arsenal winger and O Reily to take the pressure off the midfield If we do all of that we could get a draw or turn the form book upsidedown

I agree. Sagoe and O'Reilly on the ball as often as possible. No messing about with set-pieces. Get the ball in the box from corners everytime, no short balls. Shoot on goal from every freekick, none of this lifting the ball into the box nonsense.
I'm almost of the mind to put Shipley as lone striker 🤷‍♂️ he's the only player who looks like scoring. Managed worldies with his left peg last season and posed an aerial threat this season.
