Give credit wheres its due, three goals scored in the first home game.
Some sides may be even worse than County.

Last night was a chaotic mess of a football match. Credit to the players for taking advantage of County folding like cheap garden furniture. What should have been a straight forward exercise quickly descended into a horror show. If we have any chance of staying up we need to be relatively solid at the back. We are a million miles away from that. Saturday could be a difficult afternoon. Peterborough have the potential to run amok. Disagree that it should have been a straight forward exercise but your description of the game sounds similar to most other fans, journalists and our own manager. And it's not rocket science that if you have obvious weaknesses in defence then you are always going to be struggling. I suspect very few L1 sides would have Nsiala and Pierre in their squads this season, I'm hoping the Feeneys can step up

I wasn't too concerned after watching Saturdays game as it was against a team of bulldozers and we pretty much cancelled them out with neither team looking like they were going to set the world on fire this season. But after the first half on Tuesday I had huge concerns for what this season holds. We were playing against a team that played football and they tore us apart. McGoldrick's movement had us tied in knots.
Second half, no changes in personnel, just a few tweaks on positioning (O'Reilly further wide, Rossiter further forward, the impression that Shipley had had a rocket up his arse) and we looked a completely different proposition. We almost played with a swagger (almost). I just hope we see more of that and less of the nervousness of the first half with underhit passes, confusion in roles & responsibilities.
Hoole has had a fair bit of criticism, one thing I did like was his first time crossing. Unfortunately the necessary runs into the box to get on the end of them hadn't been made but they were made at good heights and with good pace on the ball which beat their defence on a regular basis. He does need to learn when to play them and when to just delay, likewise he rest of them need to be more aware that that is a potentially dangerous weapon.
This is a team still finding its identity, you would hope we had been further on with that as most of the players have been here for the whole pre-season.
One thing that did stand out was that Savin still looks like an outsider. Before the penalties when the rest of the team was in a huddle, he was stood outside the group on his own looking lost. The relationships with goalkeepers in a team are vital and this one needs to develop and fast.

A good and easily resolvable rule for the future on here would be to ban "you sound like you're gutted we won/sound delighted we lost" style posts which have been rolled out for years now by the usual suspects depending on who the manager is and their opinions on them.
Confident that the vast majority of posters will have a post somewhere in their post history saying something equivalent to "We got away with that one" or " didn't deserve a draw/win but I'll take it" which doesn't remotely imply that they're disappointed, but stating the truthful point that sometimes in football you get slightly fortuitous results and it's important to learn from them rather than just thinking everything's rosy because we won. Can't imagine Hurst's thinking all's well after that game, while also recognising the positives from a good second half display.
Yours sincerely, ATF
