Speaking of Savin
He's faced 6 penalties this season and only conceded 3 of them
Anyone got marosis pen stats ?
And one more penalty stat
Re biggins
When was the last time a penalty went over the roof of the stand ? 🤪

Well done Town. Awful first half, but showed some fight in the second half. Question to those watching on Sky Sports + did you get any glitching at all? Towards the end of the game it was pretty poor. Nope

Savin will hopefully get better. He's young and the back four in front of him is shakey.

There does appear to be goals in the team at least, O'Reilly's and Rossiter's crosses to Shipley was encouraging.

O'Reilly is a very good player...and will get better still,as he gets used to league 1 football..think Lloyd will get his chance instead of biggins on Saturday

I was really impressed with Lloyd. He's quick, strong, half decent in the air and made some brilliant runs. Much improved game from Hoole after a shocker on Saturday. Feeney needs to start. Nsiala was very poor, pulled out of position so easily time after time. Winchester is like a man possessed this season. I honestly believe Hurst instructed the players to let them have the ball at the hack first half and then implemented the press 2nf half. It worked a treat, for all of county's nice passing they could not cope with our press. Savin worries me. Some suspect kicking, terrible blind pass straight to the attacker and I think he should have done a lot better with the shot that lead to the corner for County's 3rd goal. I was watching him warm up as the teams were taking shots at him. He saved 1 out of 20 shots. The lad defo needs time and a confidence boost. If you're talking about the warm up just before the players go back in, that was Young in goal and not Savin. Some of the previous reserve keepers didn't even try to stop the shots in the warm up

I didn’t go last night as twice per week isn’t good for my health!! Sounds like we’re writing off players after the first home game of the season - judge players after a season. Hope we manage to keep Shipley 🤞🏻

Last night was a chaotic mess of a football match. Credit to the players for taking advantage of County folding like cheap garden furniture. What should have been a straight forward exercise quickly descended into a horror show.
If we have any chance of staying up we need to be relatively solid at the back. We are a million miles away from that. Saturday could be a difficult afternoon. Peterborough have the potential to run amok.

We certainly need to improve defensively but Peterborough have lost their first two games without scoring a goal (albeit against two decent sides in Huddersfield and Oxford) and we could easily have got something from both our games against them in the league last year so lets hope they dont run amok.

Firstly it was a cup game , no one had a right to a straight forward win in any comp , We had 13 corners to their 3 20 shots to their 12 , More big chances too, 2nd half We knocked on the door non stop , we deserved to win but such is football they got their 3rd too you actually sound bitter that we won Out of curiosity , How high did you jump when our 3rd goal went it ?

The big difference for me last night was the crossing, in terms of both quantity and quality. It created so many chances and half chances. O’Reilly and Rossiter’s crosses for the goals were excellent, and there was also a good cross from deep that Bloxham put right on to Shipley’s head, as well as Kayode’s header on to the bar. Seemed like it was a bit of a game plan for that second half and it worked well.
We barely put a cross in under either Taylor or Cotterill.

Think that's why Hurst wants a winger in.kayode did pretty well in the air last night....so did Shipley too!!!!.keep getting the crosses in,and keep getting players in the box...as Hurst said last night... it's no good otherwise

I don't think anyone is fuming that we won and I'd say that's a decent summary of the game and Hurst alluded to this in his post match interview. We need to defend much better if we are to have any hope of getting anything on Saturday.

I’d agree about our defence. If we attack teams like we did in the second half we might just score more goals than our opponents.

Sounds like the attack can function well, add a couple of wingers (which is hoped to come in) and goals shouldn't be an issue this season.

If Hurst gets a winger in.....would Shipley go more central midfield???🤔🤔

I commented after the Leicester friendly it was good to see us getting it wide and putting some crosses in again after so long

Yes I totally agree, there was a 5 minute spell at 2-0 where Notts totally killed the game. We had lost any momentum, couldn’t get the ball, nothing was happening. They then made a catastrophic error, gifted us a way back in and proceeded to collapse Will I take it? Absolutely. Do we need to be miles better? Yes

It’s a strange old one when on the one hand we’ve sold record season tickets, and on the other hand this looks like being one of the lowest attendances for a competitive, non-FLT game in modern memory. wrong again, best attendance for a long time town v notts 2914 in recent seasons, 1st or 2nd round games at home Taylor n/a cotterill town v Lincoln 2069 town v Carlisle 2269 town v rochdale 2229 ricketts town v rotherham 2813 askey town v burton 2708 hurst n/a Mellon town huddersfield 2862 we go back to 2014 before its bettered 4524 v Blackpool Our attendance of 2914 was very nearly double the 1522 who turned up to watch Burton Albion gift Blackpool a place in Round 2.
