I see the he/she from Algeria predictably won the boxing gold medal. One of these days some poor girl is going to get killed because of this woke ideology. Domestic Violence as an Olympic sport and public entertainment............. who'd have thought? Farcical

Well done the GB women's 100 meter realay to get silver, unfortunately two poor baton handovers did not help but despite that they came back in the final leg to get silver, I know the last US runner went like a rocket but just wonder if we had better batons exchanges could it have been gold?
Also well don the teenager who got gold in the boulder climbing

Well done to one and all.

Got to say hats off to Sifan Hassan for winning the womens marathon, having also gained a bronze in the 5000 and 10000 meters only a few days earlier. Very impressive to be able to compete over three events, especially setting a new Olympic record for the womens marathon on a hilly course in very warm conditions.
Overall a very enjoyable Olymics with some old faces winning medals, but a lot of new athletes coming through who are likely to be around for the new two Olympics as well. Think from a GB point of view Alex Yee coming from a long way back to win the Trithlon and Keeley Hodgkinson getting the 800 meteres gold are the highlights. Paris have done a very good job of hosting as well and have really shown their city in a great light over the last 2 weeks

Really liked the archery location at the Hôtel des Invalides where Napoleon is buried, and the Beach Volleyball in the foot of the Eiffel Tower really rocked each night with the light show and DJ. Think its possibly something started at London, but it was also good to see almost all the venues full with spectators, even the morning session of the athletics and some of the less well known sports. The events through Paris like the cycling and marathons also saw big turn outs.

How they converted the Archery stands into the Marathon finish was very clever. Also saw Waterpolo at Le Defense which is Racing 92's rugby ground, bonkers transformation

I'm not a big fan of diving (or of judged sports generally), but the commentators are excellent, especially the bloke. He explains what's good and what isn't so it's easier to be a bit of an informed judge yourself. Good job.

I’ve really enjoyed watching the Olympics . Some brilliant performances throughout and Paris has provided a superb backdrop to it all .
Sorry to say though I just cannot watch any more of the closing ceremony . In truth I’m bored to death , can’t work out what’s happening although I think I get the general idea but oh dear. Not for me , too drawn out and I was going to say over the top but it isn’t . It’s painstakingly slow .
I believe some superstar performers are coming on later , I hear Snoop Dog or whatever his name is is due to perform. Too late , I’m in bed about to open a book to read until I feel drowsy but may not bother , I feel drowsy after watching the closing antics.
For those of a stronger disposition I hope it improves greatly . Good night to all .

Domestic Violence as an Olympic sport and public entertainment............. who'd have thought? Farcical Damn right. Competitors should only be able to compete as the gender they were born.
Oh. Hang on a sec. Weren't both Imane Khelif and Lin Tu-Ying both born as females? I'm confused as to why this is an issue to you guys. In the Olympics of 2021 Khelif lost to Irish boxer Kellie Harrington in the quarter final. In World Championships in 2022 she lost again to another Irish boxer Amy Broadhurst in the final. She has lost 9 bouts in total. Taiwans Lin Tu-Ying has lost 5 bouts and failed to medal in Tokyo at all.
Furthermore does anyone really think that Algeria, where it is still illegal to even be gay, would send a transgender athlete to fight under their flag? Really?

We watched the athletes enter the stadium which was good to see but as soon as they mentioned something about karaoke we switched over. For the most part its been a great watch with some unforgettable moments which is what its all about. As always its been the smiles, the joy, the teamwork, the sportsmanship, etc. of the athletes that have been the highlight. I say for the most part however, as I do feel the controversy around the boxing has cast a shadow on these games (although now reported that whilst Bach was set to remain IOC president he will now step down and Coe is looking to take up the role, so hopefully no such confusion and controversy next time around). But well done to Paris and those involved in the bringing the games to us. Bravo!!
