Folks....everything that's going on doesn't mean relegation...the chances are greater sure, but the season is long and anything can happen in a marathon.
Stay as positive as you can, and don't be concerned about what other teams do or don't do. Floreat Salopia

Floreat Salopia Yes you are right I do need to try to think more positive just really struggling this summer. We have Hurst & Doig in charge which is a good thing, 5 good loans will be massive and probably make or break us hopefully we get some gems

Fact is some of us are genuinely worried about the state of things and the silence from the club, even Hurst has stopped talking. As you say onwards and upwards,it may all be a storm in a teacup🤪

Floreat Salopia There's being positive and there's having the open realisation we have never entered this stage of pre season not having 16 pros signed. All the talk of Hursts fitness beasting and Skitt getting injury prevention in place in pre season will wear thin going through pre season so light on numbers.

I don't think I've ever known the start of a season feel so flat. I can't summon up any enthusiasm at all. Because everyone around us seems to be making strides forward and we’ve gone backwards. Been told we have no money and will have to go about this season on a shoe string budget, the league looks ALOT stronger than last season too. Oh and watching Burton announce signing after signing since their takeover hasn’t helped people. I’d love nothing more than for Hurst & Moore to keep us up this season allowing another 12 months to hopefully get the club sold - but it just looks such a huge task right now Jesus. There's another thread for the Burton love-in. It's time to move on from something that's all hearsay anyway, non of there signing have been Wow signings, it's just a scatter gun concept. Let's keep this thread to transfer rumours only.

Squeaky bum time now for players still without a contract as FL teams are back training and playing friendlies. Take Marosi as an example. We paid him very well and offered him a deal on reduced terms. He said no thanks and said his goodbyes. Rotherham allegedly beckoned but for some reason it hasn't happened. He's now sitting at home. Im sure any inbound conversations now start with "what are you offering" rather than "I want" Could be some decent players available to us for a lot less than they wanted 4 weeks ago

He’s probably playing a risky game but he will end up with a decent contract 📑

It's a case of who moves first, the players who currently arent getting paid or the clubs who havnt yet got a full squad (including Town). Could well be what Hurst is doing. Think we might see a few coming in this week with 3 tougher looking friendlies coming up in 8 days from the end of the week.

The window doesn't close for about 8 weeks yet and plenty of teams have got recruitment to do. But yeah it's never going to be guaranteed you will get the offer you want

A good example is the lad Brad Young at TNS who has been mentioned as worth looking at. He was released by Villa and thought he was getting a contract at Exeter but it all fell through. He didn't sign for TNS until September 2023. Definitely worth a look

Hurst indicates Post Brackley that there will be more incomings before the next friendly.

All this talk about getting young in from the new saints are deluded. The same posters mentioning his name are the same ones saying we’re skint yet expecting town to sign a player who will command a large fee

However we don't know the terms of his contract so there may be hope of a chance Without hope where would we be?...AFC Telford, Hereford, Bury etc etc

Compo needed for him as he was offered contract. Perhaps there is some copper in the coffers.

You’ve got to remember most clubs made a loss last season, we’re about average for our sized club but just not used to it. There must be funds available with the higher paid players leaving and so far being very ‘conservative’ in the market place….. Plans in place for increased off field revenue and reduced overheads through volunteers et al.

Well the last full back signed from Rovers was pretty good.
Seems to make sense as he can play both right back and centre back.
I'm guessing Jai Rowe is going somewhere else.

Also interestingly would appear to be able to offer 'more' than what Rovers can do as well.
Scanning the net it appears an almost Udoh situation where the Club (Rovers) have been waiting to hear if he will re sign or not.
You win some you lose some.

I believe they’ve signed a replacement already. Suspect we can offer him RB as first choice - does sound a positive one. Their fans seem to think the compensation will be decent which would surprise me that we can afford it

Compensation will be minimal especially if we go to tribunal.

Happy the numbers are going up and that we’re getting someone with league 1 experience too. Need goals though. Desperately.
