OK, I’ll say it and be unpopular. Elliott Bennett’s cameo in his final game is not enough to say he’s worthy of another contract. He isn’t. It would be wasted money unless he played for nothing.
Hurst wants people who can run themselves into the ground and Bennett’s not held down a first team place for ages, nor does he have the legs to play that way.

Sounds like there’s a few clubs interested in TNS forward Brad Young. Surely the sort of player we should be looking at.

I know two stewards at towns ground and both said the same thing, udoh went to Wycombe because they offered him better wages, I can't blame him a footballer career could end with one bad injury and even without injuries it is a short career.
Due to our financial situation I can't imagine we will have a big budget and I suspect that is our reality and it limits who we can sign. Iv not really kept up with who we have, so do we have any forwards in the 12 senior players.?

Oh really?
As for Udoh, of course he went for the money, can't blame him. But there is another factor, our wage structure, you start paying big money to one or two and everyone signing wants big money. There seem to have been occasions in the past where different wages have led to divisions in the camp and we need unity.

Jack Williams who was mentioned on this thread as a town target and lives two doors down from me could at a pinch play up front but is on a walking frame at the moment. Not sure if ref would allow this as he could get extra leverage to get headers from corners.

Under the wage structure just proposed by someone, Watkins would be paid the same as Oreilley. Now that's what I call a bargain. It's a Yes from me.

Signing him for another year would be a real backwards step, particularly as he isn’t that good anymore.

I’d be very concerned if we signed Bennett again.
He wasn’t good enough last year & shouldn’t have got a contract really.
Fantastic person & great professional - would be great to see him in some sort of coaching role one day

I have it on good authority he’s training with Wrexham for some tournament and then will be joining Telford as player coach

Players that is👍 We all know that the wages paid to the big names under Cotterill are the prime reason why we are in a financial mess. It caused disruption in the squad, imagine a team mate was earning four times what you are being paid, but there is no way that all of our players earn the same as each other. The pay gap has closed, I would imagine Shipley and Winchester are our top earners but aren't on anything like Dunkley was
