Going back to the statement, maybe I've got it wrong when I thought it was classless and the sort of thing you'd expect from a petulant teenager ranting on twitter seeing their favourite player leave. Perhaps, it is in fact a new era at the club where they are going to start being open with us and telling us more about the reasons for certain events, in this case Daniel Udoh leaving because he is choosing to get more money elsewhere. I look forward to similar updates as players arrive & depart in the future. Certainly hasn’t gone down well on Twitter with well respected town fans upset with the statement and progress made in the market. Perhaps we e been waiting on his decision before it triggers a few new arrivals. Come on club we need some positive news and ambition shown. Too many negatives.

You'd think the Director of Football might want to pass comment on how things are going considering the big 3 players who were offered new contracts have all gone.
Where is Moore?

I would hope he's busy working with Hurst to get a squad in place. When the players are in place it's time for an update. Surely you already knew that reduced terms would be offered to retain players and they would highly likely turn us down?

I’m sure we will get the usual ‘club is working hard behind the scenes’ statement any day soon! Like the 6 previous transfer windows! The most worrying thing is that players talk and we’ll be seen as a club that is treading water (which we are) which makes it a bit of a difficult sell at the moment.

We can't expect the club to be specific about who or what they are seeking as I'm sure they don't wish to alert other clubs. Which is fair enough.

No problem with statement. Sounds like Udoh held the club to ransom a little, the club offered him what he ask for in terms of money and contract length (at a club he loves supposedly). But left as soon as someone offered more. I should imagine there not best pleased. Spot on. If the club didn't put anything out the people would be moaning why the club didn't try to keep him. Well, it would appear they did and they let the fanbase know. Damned if you do damned if you dont..................

Noted that unless Marosi finds a Championship club, no one has moved on upwards, they've moved on to clubs prepared to pay higher wages for a league 1 player.

If he has gone for more money then the club statement is a fact. It’s only questionable if it’s not true. It says we offered what he wanted but he obviously wanted more so a bit of a strange statement. We offered him what we thought he wanted it seems. Gainsparkshrew reply Hey this just sounds like Roland and the Scandinavians...they offered what he wanted then he upped the price and wanted more!...... although TBF the chairman has apparently done that before

Danny was one of the most popular players with supporters that town have had in recent seasons and I am sure that he will receive a great welcome when he returns to the Meadow with his new club as will his family and friends who have given him great support. I think many of them will continue to support town.

We’ve got no hope without external investment, but Roland just isn’t having it. Everyone could see that the Scandinavians who’ve taken over at Burton looked like solid investors. There’s a very realistic chance that we’ll be one of the poorer clubs in League Two this time next year. Honestly, back to back relegations wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Hey thankfully he’s gone to Wycombe, he told my mate that while he was having his medical at Wycombe, Wrexham came in with an offer. Absolute rubbish. This thread is hilarious reading.

About time too. Looks like we've effectively written off the first month of the season waiting on the loans. Going to be a titanic struggle. Credit where it's due, he's written it and been pretty frank of where it's at. We seem to be one of the only clubs in the division so far behind on numbers though. Also to add he hasn't taken any blame for signings failure and bit of an insult to boast about academy minutes he doesn't mention the club released every single second year scholar.

I admit I was going to post something ranting and raving about how poor the summers been but it turns out all I was after was a bit of communication.
Feel a bit better after that letter from Moore, I still think we'll go down but at least you get the feeling there's a plan in place, just seems like they're going to heavily rely on loan players which is a worry as prem teams don't tend to let them leave until close the end of the transfer window.

would it make a difference if you did know it ? So we/you don't know that then, you could have just said that. Just like you think some of us think the club can do no right, you think the club can do no wrong and automatically defend them and make accusations about the other party. And for the record, I didn't say the club are in the wrong, I said it depends on what has happened over the past 12 months, I haven't jumped to conclusions (unlike some). Like most things at this club, we are kept in the dark so don't know what's actually happened and therefore have to speculate. At least you now also know that we met dans requests in full and it still Wasn't enough , and he strung us on for almost 12 months including recently saying he hoped he could stay ( exactly what I said yesterday )

I can see a fan protest against Roland come that first home game against Peterborough. I’ve been wanting the bloke gone for the best part of ten years as it was clear as day we need investment to succeed further in modern day football but the majority laughed and discarded what I said. Now I’ve never seen the fanbase turn so much against Roland. His legacy is well and truly tarnished now, especially after seeing what’s happening at Burton. If ‘South Stand Flags’ or anybody similar on here is crowd funding for a ‘Wycherley Out’ flag then let me know as I’ll donate. #WycherleyOut Zzzzzzz Protest about what exactly? Protest to achieve what? He's already put the club up for sale.

Exactly......I can't understand him...going for a few more quid, and sitting on his arse on the bench...rather be playing every week myself.....crack on tho udoh He said in his first interview with Wycombe that he fancied a new challange and Wycombe ambition matches his own. Of course all players come out with something similar but it could come down to the simple fact he would rather be in a top half team than one who looks to be heading to league 2.

Far more honest to just say I want the money.

It says we offered what he wanted but he obviously wanted more so a bit of a strange statement. We offered him what we thought he wanted it seems. Maybe he wanted away from what’s been a bit of a car crash club over the last few years to a club showing ambitions above their size. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had initial demands that we messed around with, and by the time we finally met them he was already having second thoughts due to the s**t show that was coming from the pitch but also the boardroom and felt even worse was to come. He’s absolutely entitled to choose to move on for whatever reason he wishes. Contract offer was made last August. The initial demands were probably straight after he had been out injured for a year. Then he played the whole season, was our main threat and was directly involved in 14 goals. He probably thought he was worth more than he was when he hadn't played for a year.

He’s supposedly put the club up for sale but clearly isn’t interested in accepting any of the offers.
