If our players are so poor and other teams are buying them does that mean THEY are shopping in bargain basement?

And Shipley another supposed quality signing, and on big wages,he should be scoring goals and assisting.....a lot more!!! Not true. He scored 6 and assisted 6 in 33 appearances last season. That’s 12 contributions - a goal contribution every 2.75 games. For context, Udoh is our only other player with more than 5 goal contributions over the course of the season. Don’t really understand the Shipley hate. Scores plenty, assists plenty and is always closing down out of possession. Hope he stays.

Typical B&A meltdown started by a rumour spread by a Wrexham fan.He must be laughing himself stupid at the total pandemonium that he's caused.🙄

That is a desperately bitter statement from us about Udoh leaving
This club has become unrecognisable, we need liberating with all of the establishment removing

Disgusted by that statement from the club to be honest. Trying to turn Udoh into the villain.

I’ve had a long-standing dislike of Wycombe, mainly due to the ghost goal fiasco and Gareth Ainsworth’s general antics, however I can’t help but admire them and be a bit envious of them these days. They’ve had a season in the Championship, they’ve attracted external investment, and now they can treat us like a feeder club, cherry picking our best players. We’re similar sized clubs but they’re on a very different trajectory.

Reads ok to me. He’s kept them hanging on and they’ve been negotiating for nearly a year.
Why wish him luck when he will be playing us twice. It’s not like he’s bettered himself and gone to a championship club.

No problem with statement. Sounds like Udoh held the club to ransom a little, the club offered him what he ask for in terms of money and contract length (at a club he loves supposedly). But left as soon as someone offered more. I should imagine there not best pleased.

People getting their knickers in a twist about the club statement
Yes it's not exactly professional and lacks warmth towards a fairly loyal servant to the club, but ultimately they were always going to face accusations of showing a lack of ambition and I see this as them just trying to get in before the mob rallies around.
Udoh is a great lad and I wish him the best but I'm also not exactly shedding a tear over his departure.
Times where he was AWOL on the pitch last season and got cut a lot of slack for the perceived 'lack of service' when his off the ball running/work rate was simply not good enough. Went missing when it mattered and turned up again once the manager had got the boot.
There is better out there and I really hope the club has been planning for this seeming eventuality.

Right, I'll be keeping an eye on Shipley this season,if he's better than Rodman.... we'll have some player on our hands, especially the work rate.....wow!!!

The line of "But Dan has opted to leave after being offered more money elsewhere" definitely comes across as bitter and unprofessional.
The club say negotiations started back in August and we met his demands, the question is how did the negotiation process go. For example, if we met his demands in February and he's being stringing us along then it doesnt show in a good light. However, if we only met his demands in May after him getting other offers elsewhere then you can't blame him for walking away

If he has gone for more money then the club statement is a fact. It’s only questionable if it’s not true.

Mixed feelings about the club statement. It seems that Dan was trying to get more money (I don't blame him). He will get a clap from me on his return but other than that I'll move on.

If he has gone for more money then the club statement is a fact. It’s only questionable if it’s not true. It's not a question of fact. Most players who turn down contract offers do so because they get better offers elsewhere, I don't recall the club stating other players have left because they are getting more money elsewhere.

There will need to be some signings soon (this week) to boost morale. I'm hoping the club moves quick to replace Udoh. I'd like to think Hurst had a plan anyway without him.
Re: Shipley and the rest of the squad there isn't anyone in this squad that can take set pieces. That's worrying.
