We haven’t exactly been hiding it. Now’s the time to put the negativity behind us and get some positive news out about next season. Just maybe players are avoiding us and or not accepting offers because the negativity at the clubs filtering down to the players…
It’s a dangerous game to play, communicate the situation but give some positive spin.

We will very likely get relegated - I knew things were bad but I didn't think they were this bad. Shipley I can understand being sold as he's probably on a hefty wage - but if we're selling Bloxham we must be on the verge of ruin.
In a weird way it might make this season more entertaining as we will be scrapping for our lives with what looks like the lowest wage bill in League one (alongside Crawley perhaps). But being realistic unless miracles happen, we'll probably be down by Christmas

I am looking for the positives for the future of our club based on comments from the posts on B&A. For me I have come to the conclusion that in a few seasons I could be watching the Shrews at the mighty Brimscombe and Thrup. A positive indeed just a small walk to the ground. I'm hoping for a season of scraping through on a low budget to put us in better state financially and ensuring all revenue streams are maximised. Most clubs lost big during the last set of accounts so we just need to ensure we handle it better than most. Last season was meant to be the season where we scrape through on a low budget, but this season looks ten times worse based on our signings and the players we’re linked with. Our revenue streams won’t be maximised when we’re losing every week in front of home crowds of less than 5k.

I'd imagine players are avoiding us because to our peers we are not offering league 1 or upper league 2 wages. Don't think negativity has anything to do with it. If the wage isn't there that a competitor is offering they won't be signing.

I'm assuming there's various factor but if you were a player being approached by STFC, your agent would probably warn you we aren't the most stable of clubs: Just avoiding relegation last season 3 managers in 12 months A record debt announced 4 months ago The playing budget being cut again The CEO openly talking about the chairman having to pay wages out of his own pocket The CEO openly talking about the chairman struggling to get additional investment An exodus of the more established (higher earner) players, including those where the club had the option to extend their contract and wanted to do so, but couldn't afford to do it Some people may say that's negative, however it's all factual. I guess the challenge is if you were trying to sell the club to players, what is there to be positive about (that is a genuine question)?

We are one of the most stable of clubs and never any doubt about picking up the wages every month. Should the worst happen and a player gets injured we look after them. But we are a selling club, have to be. Sign for Shrewsbury and you get a chance to shine in a small squad with a hard working management team with good physio and facilities. Do well and we won't stand in your way to go on to better things, at the right price. Have no fears about signing for Shrewsbury.

Rumours that offers to be made for Jordan Shipley from Big spenders Birmingham and Mansfield wanting to compete. Some serious bulls**tting and stirring going on here Just had a good look on the Mansfield board and there's no mention of Jordan. Had a look on the League 1 message board and there's one mention and it's from so called "Wrexham good guy" on B&A IestyWFC who,on the Mansfield thread about losing out to Wrexham for the lad Brunt, helpfully suggests that they should look at Shipley instead. Sooooo..still the nice Wrexham fan??.my arse🤬🤬

Last season we scraped through with a few players on silly money mean RW had to pay their wages. This season will be the same without them players but a better manager with fitter players.

I wouldn't be against selling Shipley if the funds raised were given to Hurst.

Vultures are circling, word must be getting out around the football world about what a state we’re in. I reckon it will have been made fairly clear that all players can leave for the right offer. Don't think that would be a secret Shipley is the clear outlier in terms of the old squad and the wages he will be on now Marosi, Flanagan, Bayliss, Dunkley have all moved on.

Luckily the season does not start in 2 weeks, otherwise there might be a raffle for who gets to sit on the bench!

Wouldn't be top worried about Shipley leaving. He's now the only cotterill signing left.
A slightly better Bayliss.

Pretty much all of our moments of quality last year came from Shipley shots or crosses. Will we rely on the new lad and perry for all of our attacking this year?

Conversely most of our (highly infrequent) attacking and intelligent play over the past two seasons has come from Shipley and he's been a key member of the squad.
Just like to put it out there I think we'd massively miss him.

I know Shipley hasn't set the world alight but he's done more than most. In a really drab team last year he was the second highest scorer and twice as many assists as any other town player. Town would have been down without him

So we’re not bothered if Shipley leaves, not bothered that Udoh left, that Bayliss left, that Dunkley left, that Marosi left…
Reminds me of people trying to convince themselves last year that Leahy and Pennington wouldn’t be missed.
I don’t think Shipley will leave, but we’re literally watching all semblance of quality be eroded from the squad, bit by bit.

We need a statement from the CEO now. Why the CEO and what would you be looking for him to say, that we dont already know? It's the middle of the summer, we normally due our business late in the summer, due to the nature of our yearly squad rebuilds and this time around, lack of available funds. Maybe we're due something from Mickey Moore, but then I'd hope he's too busy arranging meetings with, and signing players for Hurst. (Which Hurst has hopefully identified/initiated)

Pennington who went on strike Leahy who cried for a pay rise , didn't get one so left Udoh who held us to ransom marosi top paid keeper in league 1 Bayliss never did anything Dunkley poor season and has had to drop a level it wasn't long ago I remember someone telling us most of cotterills signings would walk into any championship side Well none have yet , in fact if cotterill comes looking for you , You know it's a sign your career is in the decline 😝
