Can we just get Ryan Woods back on a free transfer please? He played for Exeter on loan last season so would imagine his wage demands aren't that frightening.

You would imagine that Exeters budget would be similar to ours but the capture of Josh Magennis from Wigan shows its probably a bit higher than Salop.

They certainly get a similar attendance to us... also owned by a supporters trust and not a wealthy individual so it would surprise me but hard to argue with their transfer business

Udoh Wycombe bound as reported by Pete O Rourke on twitter .. Done deal Well they are now owned by a Kazakh billionaire so have a bit more cash to offer one presumes. 3 year deal I'd guess. Was never likely to sign for town really. There's certainly some goals to find from the new recruits though - only 11 goals scored last season from those retained (6 Shipley, 2 Perry, 2 Bloxham and 1 Pierre)

I’ve never felt so demoralised ahead of a new season in my life than what I’m currently feeling. Smallest budget in the league (bar potentially Crawley), only 12 players on the books, Hurst (as much as I like the bloke) basically telling us that 20th position is our aim. Udoh going to a smaller club just tops it off now. I just can’t be arsed, I really can’t.

Udoh leaving is an absolute disaster. He’s head and shoulders above any other centre forward we’ve had in recent seasons. And the odds of us attracting a couple of half decent centre forwards on this seasons shoestring budget are probably slim to nil.
The word is that Dan is keen to stay, but the offer is just too poor in comparison to other offers that he’s received.

Alarming and terrible news if we do lose Udoh to Wycombe
Every day and week that passes, the Chairman further tarnishes his legacy. Hes likely to leave us in as bad a position as he found us - league 2 and skint
Worrying, alarming and damn right depressing

Regarding Udoh, the only surprise is people are surprised. If Hurst manages to get a squad together that keeps us up then it will be an even more impressive feat then his previous spell with us

We all know what's happened regarding "previous staff" and the fact is Rowland took his eye off the ball and chances are we're going to pay for it. If we have no investment before Christmas, then for us to stay in this league will be the clubs biggest achievement.

He's a nice lad that works hard. But he's no where near as good as some would have you believe on here, he is replaceable. That said he could be better than his eventual replacement.🤔

It's a real shame we couldn't afford to keep Udoh as he said he wanted to stay. We will do well to find someone to fill the void.
He has probably got one last decent contract in his career, he would be stupid to take an offer for less than he is worth just because we are skint. Great servent to the club.

Everything is against us this season, it's time to dig deep and get behind the team every single week to fight for every single point. I'm quite looking forward to the challange. It certainly makes a difference from finishing 17th disappointed because we could have given it a better go with a few mill in the bank.

Fully expect us to fritter away whatever Udoh’s wage demands were on a couple of dud loan signings. We’re a sinking ship and can’t blame any player for wanting out.

Well said Pughy - things look bleak at the moment but both players and supporters need to stick together and roll up their sleeves and you never know what can happen in football.
