The rumoured fee is £350k so a punt for one club would be a record fee for us 75k up front the rest tied up with many clauses as per the Peterboro way.

Hope you don’t mind, but I’m going to throw a name into the mix. We released our skipper Luke Young today. Many of us, me included, are gutted. He’s been a fantastic servant over the last 7 years and I was hoping he’d get a chance to play in L1. I certainly think he’s good enough. A proper leader who always leaves absolutely everything behind him on the pitch. He lives in Oswestry and is very settled there. Wife has set up her own business, kids play for local youth clubs and Paul Hirst will know all about him from his days in the NL. Would be a great signing for you and I know most Wrexham fans would wish him all the best, even in the blue and amber. Young signed for Cheltenham

Luke Southwood pretty good keeper at this level I reckon. Don't think he'd be signed as a back up keeper. First team or at least competing for No1 Broke his leg last game of season. I wonder if he's referring to Pardington (also released) and incidentally released by Hurst after a few months at Grimsby as back up. If its the latter then the budget cost cutting is on a different scale than what I thought it would be. Pardington signed for Lincoln, 2 year deal but presumably as second keeper

Who remembers John dungworth signing for us ? An absolute fortune back in the day . Yep I do! Didn't get as many goals as we would have liked but still a good player - the fee was probably a millstone.

Who remembers John dungworth signing for us ? An absolute fortune back in the day . £100k back in 1979. That's about £480k in today's money!

A number of clubs are looking at former Forest and Stockport keeper Jordan Smith, could Town be one of them?

Turner used him as a target man which he was not, so he spent most of his time facing his own goal Should have brought Alex McGregor back with him as he was his supplier in chief at Aldershot.

I remember Dungworth playing against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He was immense. Always a tryer never a passenger

Maybe the Championship offers have melted away in the past weeks, but I wouldn't blame Dan for holding out to see what's out there to be honest.
Still think it could go either way, if he re signs then he could be playing in goal at this rate :-)

If we have another payment to make after so many games its could be more of a financial decision than a ability one (I am sure that came into it too) considering the clubs debt, last seasons decisions were all influenced by it, which is an added difficulty for Hurst. "To cut your coat according to your cloth” will be the clubs mantra until the FA pay us the £2 million .

Is there anything in us going for Fraser again? I’m not making a rumour up I’m more just going off the Shropshire star writing up about him a lot in the last few days.

Fraser would be an excellent loan signing but since our initial interest he has played and scored for Wolves in the premiership and made a few sub appearances. This would have alerted other clubs especially in the Championship.

Wild how we’re scraping around in the bargain bucket for players released by League Two teams, whilst Burton are making marquee signings with the investment that we should’ve had.
Shameful stuff from Roland. Would be nice for the fan base to have some sort of explanation, but I won’t hold my breath.

I don’t believe Roland will sell while is on this side of the flowerbed. His procrastination is to the detriment os Shrewsbury Town Football Club.
