Very odd this one. If he's still unfit, how has it taken this long to sign ? Well I'll stick my neck out and say he'll never get fit. At least not to the levels these two demand. Bang goes our "sell on" theory ..

Not quite sure what to think of Pierre. He did ok last season, but felt like he was a stop gap not the answer. Hoping he isn't going to be seen as the starting centre back but if he can get back to his best hopefully I'm wrong.
12 month deal doesn't necessarily suggest that Hurst et al are totally convinced though

Doesn’t mean they are unconvinced either.

****ing hell. We've gone from Moore buying only youngsters, to having the oldest central defence in League 1! Love it. Signings and renewals so far Benning - 30 Lloyd - 24 Pierre - 31 Biggins - 28 Nsiala - 32 Definitely feels different to last season where (bar Winchester) the signings at the start were I think mostly youngsters and relatively untried players - parker, Sraha, Feeney, Anderson, thorpe, Kenneh, Sobowale, Perry etc. Not saying it worked as from that list we might only have Feeney left in a few weeks! But definitely feels like they are very much signing for the now and not for future/selling on

Oh yes I don't think it will continue like this, just shows how different from the model that was proposed, that they buy young cheap players with the potential to sell them on. It obviously failed, and think Hurst spoke about how inexperienced the team was so it isn't surprising, but just highlights that strategy was ripped up the second they decided to ditch Taylor

Town supposedly interested in a young striker (coming in on a season long loan) but won't be announced until next week as he's involved with his international team this week.
Played on loan last season in League One and was a regular starter

Strange one with Pierre, it may not be fully fit for the start of the season, which makes me think that it will be a pairing of Toto and Feeney.
I'm glad Pierre wants to be here and at times he's done well, in a word I say he's solid.
Interesting one with Sraha, Didn't see a lot of him last season but wasn't overly convinced, Flanagan was better and look how he ended up. If Burton want him (I suspect he's half way gone).

What Hurst wanted in January might be quite different to what he wants right now. Hurst was hamstrung by how he could play with someone else's players and needed to battle enough to stay up. Now he is putting his own team together so needs might be significantly different now. Just a thought.

Not that gutted, it's easy to forget he only played 7 league one games for us last season.
As long as we got a decent fee that Hurst can use...

Guess he realises by other defenders signing in that he isnt likely to be a first choice player under Hurst.

Sometimes player's agents try to whip interest in their player. If they ask a club if they can send a dvd of their player, (in a good light of course), or ask for a trial, then the club have "shown an interest".

The rumoured fee is £350k so a punt for one club would be a record fee for us
