Need a mix of experience and young players.....Dave Edwards pointed that out in his column the other week...the young players will come shortly I agree. The mantra of buy young to sell on is just not feasible right now. We have got a few experienced players now, Hurst loves young loanees. I am hearing we are still linked with a young Man Utd keeper for a loan.

Fraser would seem to be a good addition regardless of whatever happens to Udoh.
Hopefully there are links established and its a good fit but I'm starting to get anxious about a lack of squad so who knows.

Liam Walsh is without a club after being released by Swansea. A good player (midfielder) but unfortunately has been mostly injured last few seasons.

Britt Assombalonga and Liam Walsh now being linked on Twitter. Assombalonga has been playing in turkey or for Watford last few seasons. He wages will be a million miles away what town would be paying. Walsh would be a risk with his injury record. Only ever managed more than 30 games once in his career. But probably worth it if they think he can manage it again

I wouldn't go near Assombalonga personally. Walsh I've not heard of but sounds a little more like Hurst's sort of signing.

Walsh has a worse injury record than Price.

If town are serious on taking a risk on signing Price there is no way we can be signing another injury prone midfielder. Really hoping Price can prove his fitness and get a contract. He would be an excellent club captain.

Heard today we could sign Ben Grist on loan from Leicester City. Looks like he's only just broken into PL2 team and only played 3 mins in EFL Trophy. Going into league One from that feels a ginourmous jump. Would think more like National League or another year in PL2 rather than League One

Is Ryan Woods a free agents now, by a good signing?? He signed a 3 year deal in August 22 at Hull. They don’t seem to want him hence sent out on loan last season but still under contract there.

Too similar a player to Jack Price to have both in the same team, in my view. It would help Hurst's planning if Price can prove his fitness quickly.

Considering how good he’s looked when he’s played, Price must look horrendously unfit in training for him to have not yet been offered a deal.

If he was given a contract on the basis of that and he got injured again, Hurst would get hammered for signing unfit players. We’ve been there in the season just ended - haven’t we Mr Moore?

I suspect it's not so much unfit in the sense of coming back overweight, etc., it's whether his body is able to sustain playing 90 minutes on a regular basis, considering the injuries he has had. But if he's been training with us for 6 months and making the odd appearance, I'm not sure what a few more weeks is going to prove

Hopefully anyway.

If a club dont want a player still under contract there is usually a deal to be done. Still depends if we can afford it though.

Do we know if BR sent him back or was it a 6 month loan? Seem to remember he played well for Exeter against us…. Grecians want him back BTW from yesterday “ It all hangs on who else is interested. Big hope is clubs noticed the half season at Rovers and wrote him off and not the relatively short time with us. To state the obvious, we were the best option for him and Hull in January... There's got to be a chance at least that we still are. His stock's risen massively here, but maybe not in the football world at large? 🤞🤞🤞”
“Probably Rotherham or Wrexham will sign him now we’ve drawn attention to him……..”

Hew was getting 15 or 20 minutes for us, then missing a week or two of training. I suspect Hurst will want to see if he can get through a couple of friendlies, playing a good hour or more in them, and still train.

Maybe be the same as Bennett was last season, however he has to improve in fitness hugely to be a sensible option for us from where he was in April. I still doubt he will be with us.

Bennet at Telford would half fill the car park with his family and friends whereas the Meadow car park will have a few empty spaces especially if Dan leaves as well. Never known two better supported town players.
