Welcome to town George Lioyd. At last we have finally signed someone. I appreciate that many players contracts don't end till June so they are keeping there options open, Iv not read all the posts but has Marosi left, if so I'm sorry to see him go even if he is on a high wage, I felt he kept us up and I had hoped he would stay

Our best players all leaving on frees, and underwhelming signings coming in by the looks. Will be an absolute miracle if we stay up this year. I'm surprised some fans still haven't cottoned onto this. We stayed up narrowly last season, our better players have gone/are going, our budget is being cut - for those that were supporting us when Roland took over, it's a case of deja vu and trying to get us in a better financial position is the sole focus. I know this sounds very pessimistic, my only slight bit of hope is we at least have an experienced manager in charge and might be able to find some gems on the cheap. Yep, highly suspect the odds on town going down to be very short (if that is the right phrasing!).

How can you say this years budget has already been blown? There’s going to be one or two players at most from two years ago left.

We've hardly got "this year's budget" tho have we...it was spent,or overspent by the previous incumbent.....and we're paying for it big time

We don't usually struggle to find decent CB's. Winfield, Mkandwire, El-Ebd, McGivern, Gerrard, Whitbread, Waterfall...just some of the centre halves we've had in L1 and boy were they bad. Yes I know I'm being selective and we've had some good centre halves too, but it amazes me how casual some people are in losing our best central defender, the same goes for Marosi too. I find it interesting people talking about Dunklely slowing down and not being agile enough which may be true to some extent but currently we would be looking at Arron Pierre as our first choice centre half. Agile is not a word I'd use for him We also have Nurse and Feeney(I was a massive critic of his but he improved a lot as the season went on) I get your point but I always worry a lot more about finding midfielders and strikers as usually they cost more so we end up with the left overs.

Signed 4 players so far. 2 of them regulars in league 1 and two in league two last season. 3 of them had been offered deals by their clubs and rejected them and the other one was captain of a promoted league two club. They'll expect to bounce straight back

Just hope his Chairman can fund it going forward.

Goalkeeper? Why not check out Louie Moulden, released by Wolves. Moulden, 22, checked in from Manchester City in 2021 and had loans at Ebbsfleet, Solihull Moors, Rochdale and League Two Northampton last season - a Burgoyne replacement from Wolves again?.

Taylor Moore is gonna be signing for Bristol Rovers …. Seems to be more or less sorted according to Brizzy lot. Apparently he punched a fan in France that led to him leaving Valenciennes.....

I'm sure he's been looked at. Northampton were are in league one not two, and he was on the bench against town in Hursts first game back in January. Seems to have done well at Rochdale, hence jumping up two leagues mid season but a bit more mixed at Northampton. Only 22, fair few games under his belt for a keeper at his age. Wonder if he will go back up North, as he was in Liverpool and Man City academy. And he's also the son of ex City player Paul Moulden, who now owns the imaginatively titled 'Pauls Chippy' in Bolton!

x.com/MarosiMarko/status/1800211680087187582Definitely gone then. What’s with the incorrect statements in the goodbye messages from recent players though? First Dunkley got it wrong and now Marosi. Last season wasn’t our second highest finish in our history at all. So strange!

I think Sam Ricketts started the '2nd Highest Finish'line during the C*vid season.
Since then everyone has used it.
Oh well. Shame about Marosi but I'm not surprised. Now to get a couple of keepers on the books.

Now to get a couple of keepers on the books. first mentioned in the January of the season we were heading for that finish, on a thread titled 'Ricketts out', we were also still moaning that we only drew 1-1 at bolton despite having 25 shots , no mention of a great cup draw away at Bristol city the previous saturday, the thread as usual was a knee jerk reaction to the 2-0 defeat the day before to doncaster how silly we used to be
