So frustrating.
We were well on top before the sending off.
Sending off was questionable, 2nd goal was a clear foul on Benning and the 3rd was a mistake from Bloxham who just needs to put it out but was probably desperate to start a counter attack.
West stand lino is terrible and the ref isn't much better.

Well that's that then. About the red; neither player was in possession, both were stretching for the ball, they came together. So whether the ref could see something we couldn't with the angle he had it would be interested to know why our lad got a card but theirs did not.

I did think yellow at the time , maybe red but a harsh one , now I've seen the video I think play on would have been the correct decision , ref lost us the game 5 mins in , that takes some doing

What a bloody nightmare. Down to 10, we're offering nothing up front and our heads have gone.
I dread to think what the final scoreline could be. Damage limitation is the order of the day now. I think it's all about going for the three points on Saturday.
I can see why the ref sent off Shipley. Both feet off the floor with studs showing. It was rash. Not sure whether Benning was claiming for offside or a foul. Bloxham with a poor clearing header for their third.

Still 7 points clear, Burton and Cambridge losing. Just need a Derby goal.

So frustrating. We were well on top before the sending off.. Really? All six minutes of it? Hurst needs to give others game time now, this match is done

What a bloody nightmare. Down to 10, we're offering nothing up front and our heads have gone. Poor leadership on the pitch to let the team lose there head like they did. Dunkley has to be talking to the players and keep them focused. I don't think Udoh knew what he was meant to be doing after the sending off.

Bayliss had 3 opportunities himself and Bloxham was causing problems down the right whilst Exeter were struggling to make simple passes.

To send someone off in the first ten minutes of a game is ludicrous unless it's intent. They just can't help themselves. Never played the game.

What is our record loss at the new gaff?
It'll be interesting to see how Exeter approach this second half as considering how tight it is around us (and a pretty poor goal difference of their own), they'd be daft to take their foot off the pedal.

To send someone off in the first ten minutes of a game is ludicrous unless it's intent. They just can't help themselves. Never played the game. I agree. If it was 6 minutes into the second half after a first that had been simmering nicely, with players warned - I could understand it. I’d like to think there is still some judgement involved in refereeing, this seems a poor decision to me.

I thought Exeter were a decent side who passed the ball nicely so as soon as the red card happened it was game over. But their gamesmanship was on par as anything we did under Cotterill. The signs were there with foul by Sraha (which was a foul) just before the red card when their players went running to ref.
As for us, obviously difficult to criticise too much when we are down to 10 after 5 mins but we are a poor footballing side. Regardless of what league we are in, a big change is needed in terms of style of play.

With a track record like that against us, surely we should have a right to ask not to be refereed by him again. or....he may feel that he owes us one or two decisions. Yeah.....I can see that pig flying as well. Taken off Exeter forum…the first 3 pages are all about this ref

I think we did well second half, a great effort considering we were down to ten and some pride restored. And mores the point, thankfully other results have gone our way (big time). Could have been an awful lot worse tonight all things considered. As daft as it sounds after a 3 nil loss at home, rather upbeat. Fingers crossed we can keep 11 on the field come Saturday and we can get back on track.

Ah well.
Ryan Woods doesn't half run in a funny way - like he has a stick up his arse; never noticed before.

Best we can hope for is all the other results go our way. They have. Carlisle, Burton, Cambridge and Reading all lost. Fleetwood and Port Vale drew. No-one won, so still 17th!
