Didn't realise Woods was there. Also Zak Jules. Imagine he'll be up for tonight after his very odd celebration when scoring against us for port vale a season or two back.

Sonny Cox will be the one to keep an eye on this evening.
Still no Bowman in the match day squad.

Idowu is on the bench ahead of Sobowale too.
Don't mind Perry in for Hinchy. He hasn't lasted a match so far so fitness in this level of league might be beyond him. I think Perry is also got more than most seem to think of him.
Not a bad squad Exeter have. Mo Eisa, Tom Carroll and Ben Purrington on the bench.
COYB! Need some home form back

It was 50/50 but Woods slid in and Shipley jumped in with his studs up.

I have watched it back a few times on Ifollow coverage.
It’s not a perfect view but looks like a red.
Two feet off the floor, misses ball and looks to make contact around the knee.
Also the reaction by those around was telling, the three Exeter players closest were furious as it looked like he could cause real damage.

Best laid plans and all that. Shouldn't really give the ref a decision to make though and he did do. Maybe a tad harsh, maybe. And as such I'd urge Town players to go down like a sack of spuds whenever possible as the ref might look to even things up.

Just watched the sending off again a frezeframed it. Shipley did jump in with studs up but his foot was on the floor by the time he made contact. Happens so quick that it the ref has to make a snap decision and he has a clear view of Shipley jumping in.
Even more frustrating that the ball was going nowhere as they challenge was on the half way line.
Hurst wanted aggression and commitment and he got it.

Shipley has looked tired recently and in need of a rest. Well he has got one now for a couple of weeks.

They are a poor team if we can get men forward quick enough they are there for the taking.
Should just try keep it to the one until halftime then regroup.

At first glance I thought the same, but he gave the ref a decision to make, which itself was idiotic, and the force and angle of the tackle, plus his feet being off the ground, meant I'm struggling on reflection to argue with the ref here.

Never a red. Only reason he's off is because he gets straight back up. These sorts of reds are ruining the game. You can see the ref doesn't make his mind up straight away. He's only giving it based on reactions.
