Hope it doesn’t take him as long to get his international clearance as it did Mata or there won’t be much of the season left!

Well we have to wait and see I suppose but I can't see this doing any harm. Suspect it'll take a while for him to get clearance anyhow and when he does its pretty clear from the comments made by Hurst that it'll be a bit part role. Maybe a scenario will come about where he can contribute, see us over the line as it were.
If he is a step up from what we're used to it'll be interesting if we can get him fit and get him to stay for next season. But always nice to have someone local and someone who wants to play for us.

Shrewsbury born. Great lad. MVP and captain of a MLS side for a couple of seasons. No way we get him undwr normal circumstances but I imagine he a) wants to play for his hometown club and b) wants to prove fitness after a long injury. I only hope he can hit the ground running and provide the leadership he has shown throughout his career cause God knows we need it. EVERY BIT the potential player Leahy was for us. Let's try and rally behind him and get him to stay longer than "short term" because make no mistakes, if he proves fitness... Championship size teams will be interested. Think you overplay the quality of the MLS. Billy sharp did very well in brief stint there, and he's come to championship and can't score or get a game now. A lot of the players in that league aren't anything special. And additionally, Price has been injured for a long time, and hasn't been a regular in MLS for a good 2-3 years. Don't think he'd get championship football unless he had a really good few games and proved fitness Sometimes there is also more to a signing than playing time. His leadership, experience and game sense could teach someone like Perry a thing or two. You also want dogs of war in a relegation battle and I think his play style and captain experience underline that in the dressing room alone we have signed quality. Last night we needed something like that (and an actual fit for purpose referee I know). Failing all that... He's a Salop fan and it's amazing to see that alone.

Don't think he'd get championship football unless he had a really good few games and proved fitness 38 year old Billy Sharp? Price played 17 games in 2022. 38 year old Sharp who has played at a level that Price has never been at. 14 starts in 2022 season out of 34 games in MLS. That's not a regular in my book. Season before he was a regular ended in November 2021. Since this point he's had 5 individual injuries, the last of which has put him out of football for a year. I'd be very surprised if he gets Championship level football again in his career

It’s strange he signed so soon after PHs press release, does make you wonder maybe PH realises we need a leader on the pitch after last nights capitulation.

Surely after the Glorious Brexit result this Great British Nation can do what the f**k it wants at an international level? Surely it's one of the many benefits now beholden to us? Perhaps 30p Lee can sort it for us?

I do wonder if one or two on here are getting over excited about this. Looking at his stats he was always in and out of the Wolves team in the championship and then spent the last few years in the MLS where, as some other posts have noted, the standards are questionable. Add to that a load of injuries.
I have less expectation of this than when we re-signed Dave Edwards, and while that wasn't a failure it didn't quite hit the heights we'd hoped. And we could spend all day listing the experienced ex-championship and even premier league players who have signed for us, very few of them actually made a significant contribution.
I'm sure if he gets fit and stays fit he could be a useful addition to the squad, but I'm not holding out for more than that.

In 2013-14 he was an unused substitute at the Meadow (we lost 1-0) but he did play in the return game (0-0). Interesting other names in those Wolves squads: Edwards, Ricketts, Golbourne and Davis!

Probably the closest to a Bannan or a Pritchard we are ever likely to get.

Just look at what Ryan Woods looked like against us, running is not always the way. Anyway, lookng forward to Saturday now, should be tense

International clearance is for the FA and US FA (whatever they are called) to sort out as he last played in the USA. Mata was different as he was from NZ so needed a work visa from the Home Office as well before he could play.

Another one likely to be loaned back to Ireland?
Providing we survive I'm quite looking forward to seeing what happens during the summer as Hurst shapes his squad.Providing,of course, that PH stays
