He was at towns game against Blackpool but not as confident of signing as he has been previously. Maybe we no longer have the money or maybe his injury problems still havent cleared up sufficently for the club to take that risk. It would have been great to have got him in fully fit to help get us through the season. Hopefully a close season signing. I am sure there will be a good reason why it hasnt happened yet. He sounds genuinely keen to join us.

I would doubt we are so cash strapped that Roland wouldnt have found the extra for just a few weeks to sign a decent player to help keep us in this division would he? I know he would command a decent wage but its only for about 8 weeks. I would guess there must still be some doubts about his fitness. I wouldnt want to see us sign him on a decent wage then him get crocked after a game or two.

The club has had its fingers burned this season signing players who obviously had injury problems. Dont blame them for being cautious. A short term deal may suit the club initially but not the player. Getting a high earner off the books at the end of the season would help but will Aiden attract any interest.

If Aidens contract is up (I think it is) then it's not our problem or issue whether he attracts any interest or not. If his contract is up we can stop paying him and use the money elsewhere - finally.

Thought Aiden had another year but if his contract is up at the end of this season that's a big salary off the books.

He's been out of the game for a long time now, and he's got to prove himself, he's coming from America, its hardly a reputable nation of footballing prowess, take away the fact that one or two bankrolled teams have Messi in, 90% of other clubs have mediocre championship players at best... plus he's the wrong side of 30, a pay as you play contract would suit both parties... I'm of the opinion, that the is firmly in Salops court, I doubt we'd even think twice of him without is salopian connections, and given the time out of the game he's had, he'd likely end up approaching clubs himself, and they'd be lower down than us

I’ve heard recently we won’t sign him due to his lack of fitness/return from injury. Sounds like he’s abit behind schedule

Would be amazed if he was good enough for league 1 now and if he gets a club in summer I expect it would be League 2 or national league level

Based on the fact the MLS is lower than efl championship standard particularly at the bottom end where the team he played for generally were. He’s been released by them he’s had a career threatening injury. Hes the wrong side of 30. Clubs haven’t exactly fallen over themselves to sign him have they. Even at his peak he was an ok championship player but that was years ago now

He's spent his entire career Championship standard and above.

With our goal difference yes..... generally 99% of the time, the 4 teams with the worst goal difference do go down.and I tend to look for that towards the end of the season....we will see how it pans out tho🙏🙏

We’re not going to sign him. Hursty will want a lot of energy in the middle of the park. Non stop running getting back and forward.

Frightening thoughts, apart from perhaps "We sign him", but not beyond the bounds of possibility. Beyond the bounds of possibility is Hurst leaves to manage a Championship team.
