Is Minormorris Australian? Seem to recall he spent most of last summer glorifying Warner. No I'm not but class players are exactly that.

93 overs in a day, wow, you don't see that very often.
India close on 336 for 6.
Honours even on day one.

Ollie Pope in the first test and now Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the way in the second with a potential match winning innings.

His 200 and Gill's hundred were the difference but for some reason they gave Bumrah man of the match.

Umm it's a batsmans and bowlers game, Bumrah was awesome yet again, without his class and skill, India don't win that game. Anyone of Bumrah, Gill or Jaiswal coulve won MOTM

Too many of the England batsmen got starts but just couldn't go on and convert, that was very frustrating and could have made such a big difference to the outcome.

A wonderful show of Bazball cricket from Duckett - a great innings that is becoming normalised by this regime

I was heading out for the gym when India were 9 down.
Got back home at lunch time, checked out the score and thought wow!
Hopefully England carry on with the same intent tomorrow. I would love to see Joe Root get a big hundred, it's been a quiet series for him so far.

You never know which England team will get out of bed!
A day 3 to forget if you are an England supporter.

Never mind Day 3. Day 4 was even more shambolic.
India 430/4 dec. England 41/4.
Bairstow looks finished since his bad injury. Pope has too many single figure scores for my liking, despite that one magnificent innings. Root has been out of form all tour.

Root out for 7. lbw sweeping, as was Bairstow. Now 50/6. Stokes also lbw sweeping. Not the most productive of shots is it? Unless you are Duckett, who was run out.

Our 2 innings combined didn't pass India's 1st innings total - so we'd have lost by an innings and 4 runs even if India's 2nd innings never took place.

Garbage performance. I'd take bairstow out and play Dan Lawrence for the last couple of tests to see what he can do. At least if he doesn't make many runs he is capable of bowling abit of spin.
This test has pretty much gone the way I expected the whole series be really. India get big runs and England get bowled out cheaply in boring uncompetitive games. At least we can't lose the series 5 nil but it will most likely be 4 1.

What's worrying for me is the poor batting of our two senior batsmen, Root (12.83) and Bairstow (17.00).

It's big defeat, but why do I always get the impression that BBC Sport just loves it? Their joyful abandon with which they use critical expletives is endless....catastrophic. abysmal, awful, slump, miserable etc. etc.
I have noticed that sny England victory is described in much more measured tones.

Do you think it has got worse since they lost radio ball by ball commentary?
The BBC is in love with chuffin' tennis and snooker.

I would have thought they would realise there is a time to play "Bazball" and a time to play real test cricket.
......but sadly not....and Root is proving to be a slightly better bowler than batsman in India.....and its time sadly for Bairstow to retire.

What would you say 'real test cricket' is? What we used to do prior to McCullum coming in which was play conservative cricket, be 30-3, go into our shell and hope Root bails us out? I do get why people get frustrated at times with this brand of cricket, but someone summed it up well today. When we are playing attacking cricket and it goes well then fans/pundits can't get enough of it and we are the saviours of test cricket, yet when we have tests like this then it's an absolute failure and the players are mindless. And then come the next test, if Root reverse sweeps Bumrah for 6 he will be hailed a genius Personally, my main issue with the 'Bazball' is the sanctimonious nature of some of the England Team/media/fans and the hype around this. When we go round trying to claim we've invented a new style and are saviours of the game then don't be surprised when people in the game take joy in seeing you fall on your arse
