Should the thread title have read "We're going down" the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces? Perhaps it wouldn't all fit?

Reading all the various posts and opinions made me think how boring it must be to be a supporter of a club like Man City. You win everything its possible to win, you have the best manager and the best players and you are expected to win every game you play. What is there to argue about except possible financial irregularities and the poor quality pies and bovril. I dont think we as town supporters we realise how lucky we are.

I've always thought that about supporting a club that is expected to win loads of trophies. And whenever I do watch any highlights of big club games (rarely these days), I'm always amazed about how a lot of the 'fans' are just politely smiling and clapping when a goal's scored. No sense of pure elation and animated celebration. For me, I think that we will struggle this season. But it no less dampens the spirit of hope that perhaps we could do something unexpected. And that's the joy, if we start winning a few more than we lose. We're all very lucky to be Town supporters!

Nothing like being over reactionary
My opinion hasn’t changed, it’s probably going to be a painful season with more lows than highs, but we won’t go down.
If Roland’s happy with that then fine, most fans won’t be

That last comment really worries me. A lack of ambition from the board for longer than a season or two could damage the club and set us back years in terms of losing fans through pure boredom. Relegation would be unthinkable. It’s certainly a very tricky situation for the new management team to handle.

Agreed, we’ve all got to give Taylor and his staff backing and time, todays a sharp reminder of the reality of our situation though

What’s the lol about? Bizarre thing to post. Never understand people enjoying bad results just because they predicted it. Not that you really predicted anything anyway. 3 points from 6 is hardly a disastrous start regardless.

I think you'll find this thread is like the proverbial footballers vest with a message written on it, (and can only be used when that player scores a goal) , or in this case, its bumped 2 seconds after the final whistle whenever we lose, it was probably cued up last saturday and went unused

We’ve lost the second league game of the season against a team with a manager who knows every trick in the book and passes them on to his players with glee. It’s not the end of the world.

lets face it, Matty Taylor has less chance of winning certain fans over than John Askey did
as long as we have a club to support next season I'm happy, I do like a side that tries to entertain, cant say anything about that today as I wasn't there, but I've seen 3 home games and we try to play football, I'm looking forward to having 2 home games next week, I think both will be crackers and a big bonus if we can get at least 3 points from them

Fans are always harder to get back than to keep so the board need to ensure our plans (whatever they are) can encourage new support, which means having a competitive side with an outside chance of pulling off the unthinkable. So long as we keep doing that then the reshuffle should work whilst we let it. That said at 84 there is a big change coming in the not to distant future regardless of whether he wants there to be or not

Not expectations of promotion most fans are more realistic than that but expectations of progress on the pitch and up the league. I am still hopeful this side can match those expectations with a couple of additions

There are three other abysmal teams in this league, it’s not too late

OK we didn’t win or even get a point but how many games have we played . Let’s get a new Manager , he struggles and blames the squad he’s inherited and then what , get rid and get a new Manager . Don’t panic , we will improve and survive . What Taylor needs now is our support not shouts of” Get Rid “. Just calm down a bit .
