Had to go to Hodnet today so carried on to fill the van at Grindley Brook.
Absolute bedlam, traffic queing in both directions, HGVs trying to push past, not helped by a few pumps running dry (new delivery arrived while I was waiting).
Anyway I think I saved about £12, and probably added 25 miles to my journey. So Asda and all the RIP off stations in Telford can kizmyarz for a couple of weeks.
Petrol £138.9 ,Diesel £160.9

See the news items from the motoring organisations are slating how slowly the petrol prices are falling.
Anyone drive a diesel? They seem to be staying the same prices pretty much without hardly falling at all. 🤬🤬🤬
The great British fuel rip off, dont you just love it.

I noticed Morrisons were down to £1.71.9 and Tesco’s the same in Wellington BUT Morrisons in Shrewsbury’s £164.7 ! Still the cheapest is The Mount and Four Crosses at 1.63.9…… Makes no sense. sent this e mail to Morrisons Hi Can you explain why diesel today is 171.9 in Wellington Telford and £1.64.7 in Shrewsbury approx 9 miles away. They always used to be the same price but since the increase the Wellington store is always much more expensive. I’ve stopped using Morrisons until I receive an explanation but my advice is your customer think your cheating and ripping them off. You must get it for the same price. I await a reply with interest

Dunno how Grindley Brook are doing it. Robinson and Young in Wem is decent too if you're in North Shropshire, about 138 today 👍

Sainsbury’s Shrewsbury has finally got its fuel price board working again Looking at the prices, I’m not surprised they’ve kept them hidden for so long Robbing barstewards I noticed that today, I pumped up @ 147.9p on Saturday just to see me through the festive period and first week back of work in the new year so I didn’t have to bother about it over Christmas. Since then though I see most others have dropped their price by 4 or 5p whilst Sainsburys increased there’s by 2p to 149.9p… weird! Even Apple Green at Church Stretton is 4p cheaper than that and I pass that near enough every day. So won’t be going back to Sainsbury’s in the new year if they’ve upped their prices.

I await a reply with interest I guess you arent expecting any response whatsoever? Good afternoon Thanks for contacting us regarding your concerns about the price of our fuel. We understand that the price of petrol and diesel in these challenging economic times is a concern to our customers. Like all fuel retailers in the UK, we use a local pricing policy and do our best to be as competitive as we can wherever we operate. This policy helps us manage differing overhead costs concerning real estate, transport and logistics. Importantly for motorists, it also allows us make sure that all of our petrol stations accept cash, are manned late at night and are modern and safe places to fill up. Finally, our local pricing policy allows us to operate petrol stations in more remote areas which would not be economically viable otherwise. This, along with the more structural considerations, for example our supply and distribution costs, explains why our pump prices are set at the level they are and vary from location to location. We offer quality assured fuels and a range of goods and services (for instance we’re the market leaders for Pay at Pump) at modern facilities and importantly at a competitive price. The price of fuel is closely monitored across all of our trading areas to ensure that we remain as competitive as possible locally and we look for opportunities to pass on wholesale cost savings whenever the opportunity presents itself. I hope that this has clarified our position with you and you’ll continue to shop and fill up at Morrisons. Kind regards
