Sainsburys in Telford 164.9 today. Probably the cheapest in Telford I'd guess. Still way too high, and Asda not being inclined to join them still ripping the motorist off at 168.7 🤬 I've not kept up with the wholesale price of a barrel in recent weeks, though I assume it's come down? Havnt heard much in last few weeks. News headlines were it had come down significantly and basically slating the petrol companies for it being far too high. If it had gone back up I'm sure we would have seen reports, so I doubt it has.

Nice 30 min flight though. Got to wait a few more weeks for Spain, wait for it to cool down a bit.

Nobody should be charging 159.9p+ any more. If a local village pump can be charging 149.9 then the supermarkets and town pumps should be well under that let alone 159.9

As oil is bought in dollars, the newly weakened pound (cheers, Kwasi!) will likely lead to fuel price rises.

despite false claims on here , fuel is still the same price today at my local stations as it was last week That's because the stuff you're buying was bought at an agreed price previously. It takes a few days for currency/market fluctuations to work their way through to the forecourt

Objectively, yes the price of a tank of petrol does go up or down the instant gbp's value fluctuates vs the dollar because the market is denominated in dollars. It just takes a while for that particular " tank of gas" to make it to your car.

Funny that, my local garage is always the cheapest when they have sold out... Filled up there at 149.9 the other week on the way back from Liverpool. Pity i dont live closer, cheapest I know in Telford is 158.9 Amazing how all the cheapest garages are the very small Essar country village pumps in the county. Bet they are lapping it up for the moment.

I just filled up at Sainsburys, managed to get a 4p off a litre voucher too, saved £1.04p after your post and me filling up if the price goes down in the next 2 weeks, I'll pop round to make sure you eat those gloves

( not even since the mini budget 2 weeks ago) The much vaunted Grindley Brook station now has Unleaded at 154.9p 2 weeks ago this was 147.9p, 4 weeks ago was 145.9p... sharp rises Their prices are more reflective of the market, not Supermarkets who have consistently been ripping us off, so don't need to instantly react - they are still above where they should be!

Prices in Basildon are 160.9 yet Southend you can pay 149.9 Both with Tescos. Really don't understand who price such short difference apart with same company can be so different? Particularly as tankers drive passed Basildon to get to Southend so it can't be transport cost being the difference.

On the subject of mpg, I managed 69.1 mpg on my journey today from Chester to York in my wife's mini Cooper.
Mostly motorway driving which helped and in ecomode setting.
Not bad for a petrol motor.
