Look at the state of them - old farts with nothing better to do on a Friday morning. Shame those women were so reasonable. Surely a couple of wagon drivers could ‘remove’ these losers from the road

BBC don't appear to be covering this but we all know where their sympathies lie don't we, more interested in whipping up a petrol buying panic. Just been watching a live stream from Dover by an independent journalist showing the shambles of a response by Kent Police. Plenty of officers there but very little action, most of them standing around doing sod all. Time for police commanders and P P Patel to resign if they can't do better than this.
The protesters are not all old farts by the way, a good 50 per cent of them seem to be of working age.

(Note ‘they’) One thing that would help is if mums didn’t take they’re kids to school in the car so not much sympathy for the second ‘mother’

- Do what you want and break the law if it's what you believe in.
- Violently put across your point rather than engage in debate.
- Don't take responsibility for your action.
Great bunch of role models. Idiots.

Do you think they should wear jackets and ties or something? Do old people not have the right to protest now? Who does, exactly? Anyway, there seems to be some inconsistency in the attacks on the protesters and their appearances. Earlier in the week they were described as "the great unwashed who wouldn't know anything about working, earning a living, paying a mortgage or rent", squatters, scroungers, "absolute scum" ..... well, you get the drift. How about if people were only allowed to post such criticism if they put up a recent photo of themselves? That'd be interesting.

If it really needs to be spelled out, “Old Fart” was a joke and hardly the most offensive description. I’m judging them by their selfish, reckless, law breaking actions, not the way they look

Hahaha, nice try, you should be in Johnson's government.

Saw another video of the Police stood around watching again. Pathetic and sets a dangerous precedent that breaking the law repeatedly is fine

Nice to see some old codgers getting involved. They're not all in their armchairs. Ahem! If that is directed at me, Sean, I really don't mind -quite funny actually, but personally I look forward to the day when these anarchists block the roads leading to a football match....without in any way condoning the likely reaction, I suspect that they might well discover exactly what " direct action" really amounts to. These people have zero respect for any opinion which differs from their own, and, as I have pointed out, much as I profoundly disagree with Labour, there is absolutely no way that you would find me blocking access to their conference, for example.

I would invite her to come somewhere for a coffee, and try to have a civilised difference of opinion, as I would with Sean....better jaw-jaw than war-war as Sir Winston famously said!

You disagree with that description? Their actions bear all the hallmarks of the rejection of authority and hierarchical systems, and on top of that, their evident anti-capitalist views would seem to place them on the political Left.

Or just haul them off the motorway, give them rolls of insulation and tell them to get in people’s houses and do the job themselves. Actually do something practical rather than sitting around all day.
Make them do it at weekends as well as I presume they the weekend off to loaf around at home? Don’t protests about insulation work at weekends?

There's no room in our prisons, so 240 hours Unpaid Work Orders insulating houses seems a far better response by the Courts when sentencing these characters.

Yes it would be interesting to see how these academic, theorists actually get on with doing the practical work. Having had our last two houses done, it’s very hard, hot, sweaty work in a loft if the sun is shining particularly. Sitting around, inconveniencing others is the easy bit.
