www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/58045115She was absolutely amazing, Brooks got the Bonze in the men’s too. Her Max and the boxers were the highlight of today. Ben Whittaker into the final of the men’s light heavyweight on Tuesday, what a likeable guy. Frazer Clarke through to his semi final too in the super heavyweight, his French opponent got disqualified for two cuts caused by his head. No Olympic spirit at all by him as he went mad, Clarke tried to calm him down but he started punching cameras and sat in the middle of the ring and wouldn’t move in protest.

Laurel Hubbard? Discuss?
Personally if you transgendered at 33 and then want to compete now as a woman it’s simply amoral IMO.
I’m all for equality and believe people should be who they want to be, male, female or otherwise but this is simply unfair to compete against women who were born without the male testosterone etc.

Nice bit of team cycling track action this morning. I quite enjoyed it. Germany set the world record in the women’s with a blistering time. In the men’s there was drama as one of the Australian riders handlebars randomly fell off. The bike cost £27,000, and the handlebars fell off, lovely. Team GB men and women got through to the semi final.

Chris Hoy used to bend the chain stays of his bike when he accelerated.

Bit tense in the hockey shoot out v Spain. They’ve done it, the Women’s team got through to the semi finals without even conceding in the shoot out! Wednesday semi finals: Argentina v Indian 2.30am Netherlands v Great Britain 11am

Bit tense in the hockey shoot out v Spain. Loved that, would be happy to see that style after extra time to decide a cup game in football

Loved that, would be happy to see that style after extra time to decide a cup game in football It's more like the real sport that you have to move with the ball and might get the chance to have another attempt unless you're timed out. Surprised football hasn't ever trialled this, as far as I know.

Really pleased for Canada women's team who beat the USA in the semi final if that was not tough enough they play Sweden next.

Not seen the highlights yet so will look forward to them. Thought USA overall had a fairly poor tournament by their standards and was genuinely surprised they managed to beat the Netherlands albeit on a penalty shoot out. Was really looking forward to watching the final until I saw it was on at 3am on Friday doubt it will be shown on the BBC’s main programme. Hopefully it’s on the red button channel 601 and I can record it.

Really enjoying the Olympics, but I'm finding the BBC coverage frustrating. I know they have restricted access but it seems V poor. They show an event, then there are the interviews with the expert, the medal winner and then the medal winner's family. Then as often as not they show people in winner's local cheering the result. Watched Olympic breakfast this morning and after 30 minutes they had only shown 2 events.

Discovery paid $billions for the rights and will not want to give too much to rival broadcasters.

Watched Olympic breakfast this morning and after 30 minutes they had only shown 2 events. I agree with this, up to a point. The back story/incredible journey stuff is overdone but, beyond that, I'm not sure how much else the BBC could do. There's a real problem for any European broadcasters with the huge time difference. It's almost impossible to bring together a big audience for a live event at these Olympics when we're 8 hours behind. The big medal finals in the evening in Japan are happening in the daytime here, while the afternoon events are very early in the morning for us. There's only really weekend daytimes where a European broadcaster has a chance of a sizeable audience, and even then a lot of people want to be out themselves. The result is that only a minority have chance to watch anything live. The problem for the BBC is then deciding how much of an event to show many hours later, when most people with any interest in it probably already know the result and may already have caught up with the action online or via social media, if they didn't see it live. It's fine for shorter events when you can show the whole thing again, but for longer races, team matches and judged events where all the athletes compete in succession rather than simultaneously, you just can't show lengthy extracts 8 hours later and pretend it's "as live". I'm sure when the Paris Olympics come around the coverage will seem much better, even if only two live events can be shown at a time, simply because the vast majority will be able to watch events as they happen.

Couldn't they show the live events, then more of the earlier events that I missed at 4 in the morning?

Great drama I the sailing this morning with 2 golds and a silver. In the men’s football the final I think everybody would’ve wanted - Brazil v Spain beating Mexico and Japan respectively.
Looking forward to KJT, Ben Whittaker fighting for gold and also the women’s hockey semi finals GB v Netherlands in day 12.

That run by Warholm is one of the most freakest unreal feats of human performance in history. Yes, incredible run. I remember the days when Ed Moses ruled the sport and nobody thought his world record would be beaten, but beaten it was. And now Warholm has broken the world record again and Colin Jackson seems to think it won't be broken in his lifetime. Not sure about that. Flo Jo's 100m record is the only one I think that could outlive me. Possibly Usain Bolt's 100m record too. But with the advancement of running shoes and the tracks getting faster, I think records over 400m or more will start to tumble over the next few years. Two best Gold Medals for me so far are Warholm on the 400m Hurdles and Charlotte Worthington in the BMX Freestyle. It would be great to see another eclipse even those performances.

GB's Sky Brown, just 13yo, wins Bronze in skateboarding. Watched the heats when they came on at 2am but missed the final at 4.30. Pretty impressive watching them. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/58082535
