We should probably have a thread up by now so here goes.
Good couple of wins for Team GB in the football already, Canada will be tough on Tuesday, we need a draw to top the group or else we’ll play whoever finishes 2nd in the Netherlands and Brazil group which we want to avoid. World Champions USA got bopped 3-0 by Sweden in a massive shock on Wednesday too but won today and are likely to go through now. Some very high scoring games so far, Zambia 3-10 Netherlands, New Zealand 1-6 USA, China 4-4 Zambia
Good 3-1 win for the men’s hockey team too 3-1 against South Africa today. Looking forward to seeing Jade Jones in the Taekwondo tomorrow, she’s chasing a third consecutive gold medal. I’m interested in them 3 mainly plus the boxing and athletics.

Anyone know if you can watch specific sports highlights anywhere?
I’ve watched the roundup on BBC IPlayer but wanted to pick out specific sports to watch

Jade Jones has lost in the last 16 of the Taekwondo competition.
Andy Murray has withdrawn from the Tennis Singles.

Really feel bad for Jade Jones, hopefully she'll get the chance to go for a bronze medal.

I’ve watched the roundup on BBC IPlayer but wanted to pick out specific sports to watch Think the rights is fairly different this time round, so BBC are only allowed to show 2 sports at one time. More stuff on Eurosport and somewhere else I believe, but both paid services. Dunno how it works with highlights though

I’ve caught up apart from this last hour. Yes shame for Jade Jones her team were distraught and in tears. Max Litchfield put up a good fight in the pool, snuck into the final in the last qualifying place, bad start bad started to claw it back, looked in with a shout of the bronze but came up just short in 4th. Peaty through to the final as you’d expect.
Chelsie Giles got Bronze for team GB in the women’s judo, and a guaranteed medal for Bradley Sinden going for gold in the men’s taekwondo.

As always I'm in awe at these athletes. To even make the team demonstrates incredible dedication over a long period.
I'm always in awe at the gymnasts. I could play football, ride a bike and run, jump etc in athletics. I could lift some weights, put on some gloves and have a fight, probably row a boat if I tried. I could shoot a gun, ride a horse, swim a few lengths, fire an arrow and whack a shuttlecock or ball over a net.
All badly of course.
But gymnastics, how the hell do they do it? I could never even come close to even trying, let alone doing well. And there must be plenty of injuries too. Plus those concentration levels must be on another level. Those trainers need to train Rashford, Sancho and Sako how to take penalties.
There's women doing their floor exercises now. How the hell do they get that height? And must have knees made of iron to land hose somersaults, backflip thingies they do.
I love the Olympics, looking forward the athletics, but gymnastics I'm in awe.

Bradley Sinden just misses out on the gold, leading in the last 10 seconds but let it slip. Very competitive fight as the leader kept on changing. Still silver though!

I enjoyed Ellen White’s goal for England, a born poachers effort.
Been up early the past 2 days to watch the cycling road races which were similar in different ways. Both were won by bold breakaways, but the men’s by one of the best in the world who had recently finished 3rd in the Tour de France and the women’s by an unknown who hasn’t got a professional contract.
In the men’s case the winner is only the second person from his country to win Olympic gold and the women’s winner is the second from her country to win a cycling medal. Both are assured hero status in their countries for the rest of their days.

When did kicking someone in the head, become an Olympic sport? Lol. I think Monty Python would have had fun with Taekwondo.

IPlayer is fine but have to fast forward in hope of finding a specific sport.

Gutted for Bradley Sinden! What a great final though. I wouldn't normally watch taekwondo but that's the beauty of the Olympics.

My highlight today was the Austrian female road racer who won after leading from the outset. Complete outsider and won after leading for nearly 4 hours.

Just watching the triathlon. What on earth just happened? The start gun went with a massive boat on the start line and left most of the competitors behind. How on earth did that manage to happen?
Shambles 😂

Massive cock up by the Dutch, they had such a strong team that I think they got complacent and didn’t believe that anyone was in front of them. It shows how much more exciting racing can be when the riders don’t have radios and have to think for themselves.

They had the numbers, they had Tom Boonen. They didn't have Sagan or Cavendish.
