Lauren Williams - 67kg Taekwondo - Silver Another late loss of gold in taekwondo. Is there an equivalent to taking the ball to the corner flag to see the contest out? Confess I haven't a clue what's going on in sports like this and judo, as much as I admire the skill and athleticism of the competitors. That's true of a lot of Olympic sports, especially those where judges decide who wins - gymnastics, diving, skateboarding etc. I much prefer events where it's objectively clear to everyone who the winner is.

Georgia Taylor-Brown silver in the women’s triathlon!!! She was leading some of the race and aiming for gold only to get a flat tyre in the last lap of the cycling cost her about 25 seconds, she fought back and clawed some positions back in the running, took a while to overtake Zaferes who was in 2nd at the start of the last lap but she did it and claimed silver!!!

Taekwondo is killing me! A last second headshot beats Bianca Walkden. Hopefully she can refocus and get the bronze...

Duncan Scott and Tom Dean a 1-2 for gold and silver in the men’s 200m freestyle! That was amazing!

I’m not bringing any luck to GB. Turned on radio to hear Tae Kwon do loss in last second, followed by canoeist having a nightmare, now watching rugby 7’s get beat, but still in with a chance

That's incredible. GB's comeback was excellent, although the way they got pummelled by Fiji in the last pool game doesn't give much hope they can improve on Rio's silver. But they'll at least have that if they can beat New Zealand.

When your family can’t be there to cheer you on in person, wonderful scenes watching Tom Deans family and friends watching him secure a gold medal - the memory will live forever in this video and will mean more than the medal itself, exactly what sport is all about

Amazed at the poor coverage of the women’s football for team GB on the BBC… not shown live not even on the red button. No match, no highlights available on iPlayer… Just a couple of minutes highlights shown at about 5.45pm near the end of the programme? Anyway they topped the group after a late deflected 84th minute goal against Canada to draw 1-1. They’ll play Australia in the quarters finals on Friday at 10am… ideal as I have the day off so they better show the match live. If we beat the Aussies we’ll play the winner of Sweden v Japan in the Semi-finals. USA only drew to Australia and only finished 2nd in their group, they’re definitely beatable and GB shouldn’t fear them if we play them in the final but I think they’ll lose to the Netherlands.
9am - Canada v Brazil 10am - GB v Australia 11am - Sweden v Japan 12pm - Netherlands v USA

It was on Radio 5live. I assume future knock out games will be shown

Think the women stand a good chance but Netherlands are the favourites for me.

After pretty much ignoring the first 3 days, I am starting to get interested. Some disappointing 4th places. Never seen rowers veer off course like that on a straight course

The production team would have made the choice based on the chance of seeing a medal. If they had been covering the Women's football when a medal was won then there would have been uproar. I'm just waiting for the Facebook posts about how the BBC has only 30 mins of Paralympic coverage a night, despite the fact that Channel 4 has the rights. It comes out every 4 years from the BBC haters.

It means they only have 2 live events at any one time, one on main tv and one on red button/app plus radio 5

In 2012 they were host broadcaster so had everything.

They were simply higher class than everyone else. GB just weren't good enough for a medal.

Should’ve had more faith lol. But will it continue to be shown on BBC1 if it goes to extra time I wonder?

Many of the sports we were hugely successful since in 2008 are not going to hit the high levels. It can sometimes take 2 Olympic cycles to get to that level again. Other nations catch up with technological development. This is probably what has happened in rowing. Have a low key games now to develop for Paris 2024. Team GB have broken the hosts post games supposed voodoo. 47 in 2008, 65 in 2012, 67 in 2016. I feel there is a wider spread of the sports where Team GB have medalled. Just a theory
