today's statement in the commons by michael ellis on the pincher story was pretty cringeworthy. and it wasn't just opposition mps that were asking difficult questions, lots of them by Tory mps too. Only one tory MP was vaguely supportive in the chamber, various others bringing up good points, such as how is it that the position keeps changing daily and how is it that ministers come out in public supporting no10 by following their lines from that day only for it to be a different story the next day, which makes them look ridiculous?

Yeah. That one Tory MP was Peter Bone. Both him and Michael Fabricant are completely lost causes. In 1995, Bone was described as Britain's "meanest boss" by the Daily Mirror when he defended paying a 17-year-old trainee at Palm Travel (West) 87p an hour, equivalent to £1.78 in 2021. Before they separated, Bone employed his wife, Jennie, as his executive secretary. In 2007–2008 he paid her "in the top bracket of up to £40,000" per annum. Wiki.

Possibly a chance for our excellent local MP to be promoted to a ministerial position?

Deputy PM Dominic Raab, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and Home Secretary Priti Patel were all said to be staying in Cabinet.

Boris might as well give Nadine Dorries the Chancellor's job, and bring back Hancock as Health Secretary! He's always valued loyalty.

Two of the more competent ones gone and the other lackies who have been promoted beyond their capabilities profess their support.

The ramblings of the totally deluded:
"I’m not sure anyone actually doubted this, however, I am 💯 behind Boris Johnson, the PM who consistently gets all the big decisions right". Nadine Dorries.

You'd think that somebody in her position at a time like this would realise we're a bit beyond trotting out electioneering slogans at this point, wouldn't you? But no, she's still banging on about "getting the big calls right" like all they need to do is keep hammering home the three word slogans and it'll all be OK. Totally deluded.

That'll be Lynton Crosby's influence.

Deputy PM Dominic Raab, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and Home Secretary Priti Patel were all said to be staying in Cabinet. Wallace being touted as a possible successor, surprised he wants to be tarnished by Boris any longer. The other 2 are complete political lightweights who surely wouldn’t get a job with another leader, so no surprise if they are loyal.

Nadine apparently tried to submit her resignation but apparently ended up adopting a panda instead.

I truly cannot understand how anyone can support the PM now. We, as a country, just cannot afford a government made up from his fawning puppets who are too lightweight for these times.
He just has to go before we all sink under him.

He just has to go before we all sink under him. Is any politician of any colour fit to lead the country, I dont see one. They are politicians for a reason, they all just look after their own and sod those who elect them. If there was an election next week I really would find it very hard to vote for anyone right now.

Maybe that’s true but we are now coming down to second and third choices for government posts. Are these new lightweights going to suddenly become experts over night? I don’t think so and our economy and future doesn’t have time for them to come up to scratch.
We are in one hell of a mess and one that is getting worse every day.
For what it’s worth I don’t trust any of them either but we still need the first team running the country and not the subs coming off the bench.
